1967 427 Impala Hood

I thought someone was looking for one of these hoods a couple months ago.

This car was the 1967 SS427. The factory option code was Z24 and only 2124 of these special Impalas were produced. One feature of this rare car was a special domed hood with a louvered chrome insert. I have one of these rare hoods with the insert and it is FOR SALE. This hood and the insert are in excellent condition. The underside of the hood is as nice as the top. No pitting from rust on the hood or the insert. $4000.00 obo. Additional pictures available upon request. Call for more details. 414-761-9104 </div></div>

Never could understand why anyone would stand up a hood on the points instead of the flat edge to distribute weight evenly without damage

Here is Shaun Price's (galveston) beauty snapped at his shop recently. He tells me that the rear speaker grille (top center of rear seat) has an &quot;Impala&quot; call out.

Chris, I've stored plenty of them on the points and as long as there is good padding, it's not a problem. The side may seem like a better choice but if the hood has a brow and you lean it, it's on the point anyway. (unless you lean it backwards)

PS: it's nice to be able to see again. The lens replacement for the other eye is coming up soon then I'll be really dangerous! I might actually be able to get back to work on the blue '62.......

Mikey - only the hood was (had to be) painted. The rest of the car has a beautiful patina of its original paint - very warm!!!!
