I have no interest. GM doesn't have the trademark to ZL1. SLP does so they are converting them.

Re: 2011 ZL-1 Camaro is available to be ordered
The local Chevrolet dealership by my house has 2 ZL427's and 2 ZL560's. The one ZL560 is that cool green color with black/white hounds tooth and is stunning but for $70,000 they can keep it I'll go buy a Shelby.

I guess it's a case of "whatever floats your boat" but, if I had the choice between the 2 (Shelby or Camaro) I think I'd get the Camaro.

I agree with dave. Shelby has mass produced too many. I don't think they will be collector cars in the future, except the first year when shelby came back and the hertz shelby cars.

It would take many years for these cars to increase in value and that means not driving them. I would rather buy a vehicle I could run the crap out of and not worry about the collector value. Do you think 40 years ago a buyer went to a chevy dealership and thought to himself that the 1969 ZL1 camaro or COPO would be a good investment for later on down the road???? I dont think so, they would have bought the car to run the crap out of it at the track or on the street. This is why these cars are worth so much today because it took guys like myself to buy a car, run the crap out of it, diminish the quantity for you future investors to spend their money on a car that they would be afraid to drive like it was made to do. |
