66 SS Chevelle L78 Convertible vin # 138676B174605
 

Does anyone have any info on the this car. Its a 66 Chevelle SS L78 convertible red/red, fm, buckets, console, 4 spd, tach, 410, etc. Its been completely gone through nut and bolt. I'm looking to find out any history, owners, restorer, etc. Trying to determine if its the real deal. The car is currently for sale. It was recently on ebay and didn't sell. I saw the car yesterday, so this is a funny coincidence. I passed by the shop and saw the car. Guy says it was an L78 convertible, "1 of 200." I started to play his game and said Chevy didn't keep track of that info, that the total is 1 of 3099. He said that was only for hardtops, then took a phone call. I left it at that.

He did indicate the car was probably sold. I peeked my head inside and the climate control had "air" marked on it, so I'm guessing there's more questions than answers. Car looked very nice. If you want to know more, I can see what I can do.

Hello, Thanks for the info. I have seen all the photos and have spoken with them but trying to find out where did the car come from, who restored it, does anyone know previous owners, etc. Its like the car just appeared one day at classic.

They usually deal with more exotic and foreign consignments, from my experience, although they have a few books on Z/28s. Last time I was there, there was one of those Alfas from the 1930s that are worth a lot of money. This time, they had a '51 Caddy ragtop and a '57 DeVille ragtop and a Fiat 850 convertible, among other stuff that didn't catch my eye (the usual 15 year-old exotic).
