finally got the 71 cuda out for its first run...
I have spent tons of what little free time I have getting this car cleaned up to show at the mecum survivor show, and it was rained out for the folks not registered (i.e. me). I never knew the carb on these 340s were 800 cfm, and also kept the fuel up to 20 degrees cooler than the previous yrs carb. I think the carbs on my 65 vette and the 69 camaro are 780. Who would have known. The car actually is pretty quick. Major changes were the original gas tank had to go, and ended up swapping the carb and radiator off my other 71 cuda.

as far as the plates, if I had another 71 IL plate, it would have been in the back. dan, I have not started the restoration of the rust areas. The only thing done was straightening of the front lower valence (kept original paint). darren, I think the kids still live at home, and have all their money tied up in their exotic rides (I resembled that remark once). The fact they sit outside overnight, tells me they are not mommy and daddy's rides. |

The car looks great! You should definitely enjoy driving it around as-is, this summer and wait to fix it this winter when it's too nasty outside to drive.

What a neat car! Any black Mopar is not only a rarity to see, but just plain cool.
