Robert Chevrolet Dealer Emblem
I'm still looking for a Robert Chevrolet dealer emblem. This dealership is still in business in Hicksville, New York. I've spoken to the dealership owner and there's not a single one laying around. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: Robert Chevrolet Dealer Emblem
Nick, your best bet is to probably hit some of the long island junk yards and try to find an old Roberts chev emblem on a wreck, although the LI boneyards are getting smaller everyday unfortunately

Re: Robert Chevrolet Dealer Emblem
Hi Jim,
Great minds think alike https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif. In the early 1990's, I was hitting all the junkyards in Lindenhurst near Hoffmann Avenue with no luck. During that time, those junkyards had big blocks, muncies and 12 bolts laying in racks. I actually had found an Amity Chevrolet emblem during one of my searches. That dealership had some very knowledgable people at the parts counter. I bought my LS-6 from them in 1988 and it's still in my Chevelle https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif. |
Re: Robert Chevrolet Dealer Emblem
Are there even any yards left on the Island with old stuff? I had no idea Robert used a metal emblem.. Maybe we should combine our knowledge of the LI emblems into a list so we know which dealerships used metal emblems back in the 60s. I have quite a few oldies from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens.

Re: Robert Chevrolet Dealer Emblem
There are some yards left on LI, but not many and growing smaller by the day. Most of the yards are in Suffolk county/eastern end of the Island. Most, if not all, of the Nassau county yards are now modern crap who crushed the old stuff when scrap was through the roof.Just about everybody used the metal emblems in the day, I have some Pape Chev (Huntington LI) emblems, I know BAST Chev and a few others used metal as well
