Muncie
I got a couple of Muncie questions. Can a M22 with a 660 case that has an assembly date of April 1969 have a fine spline inputshaft? Also the assembly date code does not have the Muncie A, B, or C designation following it? Is that common or even possible? The tranny internals are an M22, but it is original or a throw together muncie?
Thanks in advance. |
Re: Muncie
My June built muncie M-22 has a course input shaft..and mine is PXXXX C

Re: Muncie
Muncie transmissions started using the suffix letters in October 1968 for the '69 model year. So that April 1969 case should have had the suffix C on it and it would have been a course spline style. Most likely a pieced together trans.

Re: Muncie
I believe the date to be Oct 18th or 19th. The born with M-20 in the 4th week Oct 68 built 69 Z I am restoring right now is not coded, when I inquired KurtS said it just missed the cutoff...

Re: Muncie
The case is untouch, so I wonder if it was just missed at the assembly plant.

Re: Muncie
The April M22s that I have all have "C"s.
Also a fine spline input isn't original to a transmission with an April of 69 assembly date. |
Re: Muncie
My first post was wrong. I guess I should of said: Should it have a fine spline input shaft
