Suggestions on polish/wax for black paint??

Got a car to clean up and have not really done much in terms of cleaning/detailing for a while. I got an older black car to clean up with original paint. Minor swirls in paint from age. Any ideas/suggestions for product. Thanks!

I like Maguires products, they have a swirl remover. 3M makes good stuff as well.. Always use a microfiber towel when polishing or wiping down the car...

Have to try to use some older type products for lacquer paint. Kit, Rally etc. The new Wizard products are good also.

I have not tried any of the swirl removers yet, but I used the 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and then Meguire's # 26 Hi-Tech yellow wax on my 70 L78 car and it shows pretty good for a 15+ year old paint job. The hand glaze is a lot of work but definitely worth it.

3M's (all in one) light oxidation/cleaner/polish works very well. I use it on my 40 year old black laquer and get excellent results.

Farecla, If you get a chance to use it you will never use 3M or Maguire’s again, It is imported from Europe. I believe some NAPA stores
stock it. It is not cheap but well worth the expense.

Do not waste your time with any of the products found in any of the local auto stores. They do more harm than good. Get yourself a random orbital polisher (cannot burn the paint) and some Menzerna Super Intensive Polish. Talk to my good friend Phil over www.DetailersDomain.com. Buy automotive clay, microfiber, Lake Country pads and some Menzerna.

Here is a '66 Corvette I detailed for a friend. This car's paint was less than two years old. The pictures speak for themselves. I have been detailing for years now. It was a 2 day job, which consisted of a wash, clay, wash, Menzerna SIP, Menzerna Nano, and Menzerna Final Polish and then Pinnacle XM3 wax as a top coat.

Dan (aka Mosport), One of your pictures shows a DEWALT regular buffer with foam pad........

Please elaborate more on when, where and how to use regular buffer versus orbital buffer (where is good $ource of orbital buffer and pads)???????

Thanks,
