Couple of large 60's vintage gas station signs...

I have four large plastic vintage signs left over from an old gas station I purchased. They would make a great wall hanger in your garage or shop..

First, there is a pair of "GASCO" signs. They are approximately 5' in diameter, made of yellow plastic with black letters. These were originally mounted back to back and had lighting between them for illumination. They mount easily flat to a wall but could have lights installed behind them if you wanted them to light up. Both are in excellent condition. I'd like to get $250.00 for each half or $400.00 for the pair of those.

Next we have a pair of "BLUNT BROS" plastic signs available! These are approximately 10' long and were originally mounted back to back with lighting in between as well. The one that faced the south is fairly faded, but the other one is bright (although very dirty still) and in excellent condition. They can be mounted to a wall and easily have an 8' florescent light behind them for illumination.

My son says these should be valuable..... something about a dual meaning in the name?? Having led a very innocent past, I have no idea what he could be talking about?? I actually purchased the gas station from the "Blunt Bros" who built it back in 1963.... Oh ya, I'd like to get $350.00 for the bright sign and shooting for $200.00 for the faded one, or $400.00 for the pair.

I'd really prefer not to package and ship these items, but am open to discussions in that area. They are located at my home in Petaluma and are safe here so they wouldn't have to be picked up immediately.... but soon would be good.

So let me know what you have in mind... feel free to call me on my cell at 707-287-5041 if you're interested or email me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks!!! Charlie

Very nice!
How tall are the "Blunt Bros" signs, and how deep is the lip drop down on them too.
I might have a fixture these fit into.
Thanks..

Let's see if I can describe the Blunt sign dimensions clearly...

There is an aluminum frame surrounding the entire lip of the sign that is about 1" x 1". This originally had hinges on the top edge for access to the interior light fixture.

The flat portion of the plastic sign has a lip of about 1 1/2" completely surrounding the raised portion.

The raised portion is about 2 1/2" deep from the face of the sign to the face of the lip.

The raised portion is about 12" tall so including the lip on top and bottom ends up about 15" overall.

The length of the raised portion is approximately 8' 10", so with the edge lips the overall length is around 9' 1".
If you mounted the sign on a wall with the aluminum frame still attached, you would have about 3 1/2" clear inside for a florescent light fixture. I was going to use a double sided fixture where the lamps are on the sides of the fixture, not mounted over the ballast section...

Hope this makes sense, but please ask more questions if it doesn't.....

Have a great Friday the 13th !!!!! Charlie

Your son is probably referring to a business that could've catered to Michael Phelps.

It's also the name of foreign Construction co.

Fits right in with you Charley.
