Re: Original timing covers needed
Joe, you need to specify if you want a timing cover for an 8" or 7" balancer. Solid lifter BB will take an 8" and is L78/LS6 specific I believe. SULLY

For reference, here's the solid lifter,8" balancer Big Blocks used, dated for 1970 production.

Re: Original timing covers needed
Sully, Darren is correct, both the 69 and 70 covers needed are for bb solid lifter motors. It is also correct that the two covers are different, the 70 being year-specific, not sure about the 69.
Glad to see that the cold weather has not dampened Tom's sense of humor! |
Re: Original timing covers needed
Mine has a 69 date on it, and looks just like the one in Rick's pic...unless I'm missing something. How are they different.
Good luck with the purchase! Joe, just seeing if you were paying attention. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif |
Re: Original timing covers needed
Gary,
I try to pay attention but, as you know, the devil is in the details and I am trying to learn! When I stated the '70 bb cover was specific to that year, I was stating what a reliable source told me so my info may not be accurate. I would be interested to know the differences also. |
