Does anyone have a idea how many different aluminum YENKO blocks were made? thanks.

Re: YENKO BLOCK
Bunches...tall & short deck, wet & dry, Yenko crest & Yenko lettering...

Re: YENKO BLOCK
Is there one that is more valuable or desirable then the rest?

Re: YENKO BLOCK
Hey Rob... for those of us not too keen on engine talk, could you explain the differences amongst tall, short, wet and dry blocks?
Thanks! Dan |
Re: YENKO BLOCK
Short is a standard passenger car block, tall deck is a tad taller, for trucks, wet means it has water passages and dry means it does not.
Some had the word Yenko on the front, others had the Yenko crest. |
Re: YENKO BLOCK
Thanks Tom.
If a motor does not have water jackets for cooling, how is cooled? By the oil? -Dan |
Re: YENKO BLOCK
You run nothing. In the DH funnycar I did not run any, as the large amounts of alcohol circulating kept things cool long enough to make a pass.

Re: YENKO BLOCK
Interesting, thanks!

Re: YENKO BLOCK
Some of the blocks were 4.250 bore and some were 4.440 bore. Any idea how many of each were produced/sold? I'd be surprised if anyone knew but I thought I would throw the question out there.
