Original Z28 Cams

As I don't know if these are worth anything I figured I would throw it around here before I go put them in parts for sale section. I have 3 original, used but nice, original Z28 cams. #1 is a 67-68 cam, #2 is a 69 Z28 Cam #3 is a 2nd design off road Z28 cam looks like it is dated 69, all are original GM cams. Just wondering if they bring anything. Thx in advance

They bring more unused Sully (NOS). I believe the 3 cams for a Z/28 are all the same 67,68,69. They were also used in the 327 injected corvettes mid 60's. Off the road cam is good if you have a steeper gear like 4.88's and up and also an M20 helps the cause with a 302 motor. Seems like the Comp and Crane spec cams are the people's choice but try them on Ebay, ya never know! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Thx Sammy, I got a whole bunch of cams from a large stash of Chevy parts I bought from a guy who raced in the Trans Am series in 69 and 70, sold the cars but kept a lot of the engines and parts in a bldg that hadn't seen the light of day since early 70's, I was the first one there. it was a good score

Re: Original Z28 Cams

Some of the stuff, 18 Holleys, brand new CE 854 BB block and 6223 crank, still has the original new part chevy tag on on it, sun tach and gauges, set of L88 pistons brand new 8-10 cams, a wall full of perfect condition Borg Warner professional shop cabinets (with 1970 Lime Rock and Watkins Glen metal plagues still on them), 3 muncies, 3 alum Chevy high rise intakes, 5-6 distributors,3-4 deep groove BB pulleys, 4 sets of aluminum Micket Thompson BB valve covers, 1 set brand new in the box never used/opened, 3 pairs of chrome Chevy valve covers, 8 BB starters, 3 Hurst shifters, ton of NOS Chevy gaskets, complete BB Chevy dry sump system, 5 8" BB balancers. That is about all I can think of now. He even had 2 pneumatic jacks that he used to bring to the pits to jack the cars during races, I didn't have any room left in the box truck, they were huge and heavy, I left them there It is a pretty good story, guy used to race against Penske, Bud Moore etc as a privateer in 69 then 70 Camaros. He said nobody could compete with the factory $$ those guys had back then. He sold those cars, did a little with Porsches and Panteras and then hung it up and went sail boat racing. Said he hadn't been back to this bldg (shop and garage) in a long, long time. He now had to clean it out as he sold it. I opened one of the cabinets when I got home and there was a copy of Car Life magazine with the Penske Mark Donohue Camaro on the cover in perfect condition, I think it was dated June of 1970.? I was in the right place at the right time...
