Bumper rechroming....HELP

I know this is a repeatable thread but where in this vast country can you get a show quality bumper redone that isn't going to cost a grand? Here in Chicago there seams to be only hacks left with no attention to detail. I have had a 69 Chevelle rear bumper done three times around here and can't get better than driver quality. Pretty pathetic! Is anybody familiar with the guy on ebay that sells for $140 with your core in exchange. I think he's on the west coast. There has to be a decent shop out there...... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Bumper rechroming....HELP

Doing a great job on rechroming rquires a lot of work.
No one is going to do a 600.00 dollar job on a bumper fot 150.00 dollars.I sent mine to the best rechromer around here
and when I got them back they were better than show quality.
Both bumpers cost 1200.00 Canadian.
Here is anexample of the great chrome. The Plating house did the chrome (John Dustin)4166613964 Tell John that Peter sent you. 70 chevelle ss.68 Camaro

Re: Bumper rechroming....HELP

PJ, thanks for the info but I would like to keep it local due to shipping costs. Glad you at least have a go to guy. I don't want to suggest that a $140 bumper is what I am aiming at. I paid almost 3 times that and just should have thrown my cash out the window. The last one I used was a vender at the fall 07 Chicago Chevy Vettfest which did poor work and probably an illegal ta boot.

Wow that sucks.I would ask for my money back or for the bumper to be rechromed properly.Maybe you should post his business name here so all of us can be aware if he does not
redo the bumper

AIH in Dubuque Ia. The best we've found. Very expensive, and expect a 4 month wait. But not to far from you.
