'67 Camaro RS/SS #s 350/3-sp Stick, Bench Seat, Nicely Equipped

How interesting to see a bench-seat, 3-speed manual '67, with a number of nice options. Seems like a pretty fair deal for a California car with a great color combo and original drivetrain.

Neat combo, would someone have selected the bench and 3 speed to keep the total cost down?

Must have been...interesting choice for sure.

----That could have been one way, but look at all the other options that were ordered. AC, deluxe interior, etc. I had a friend who's 1st car (a 65 mustang coupe with the 4-barrel option, but with a 3-speed). He was a little wary of being able to drive a 4-speed and thought a 3-speed would be a way to learn. His next car was a 67 Mustang fastback with 390 4-speed and a bench seat. Who knows?....Bill S

That's a cool combo. Reminds me a little of a 67 Firebird 400 I had briefly. 400, posi, AC, Tinted glass, PS, PB, PW, Tilt, FM, Deluxe interior with buckets and console, Deluxe belts, fold down rear seat, space-saver spare. And a 3-speed manual !! With POP. And PHS report confirmed it came that way.

Story I was told was that the insurance was cheaper on a 3-spd so the young original buyer ordered it that way. Seems like it ought to have been even cheaper on an automatic, but who knows? I am more inclined to speculate someone ordered the car and asked for the "3 speed" meaning they wanted a TH400, but salesman messed up. Moot point now since I came to my senses and sold it!

White car with red guts, went to the northeast somewhere. Anybody know its current whereabouts? Probably not another one still out there equipped that way.

In 67 and 68 a 3 or 4 speed stick or powerglide were the only options with a small block. 3 speed stick was probably standard. 4 speed and PG optional.

Probably was behind a 295 hp 350, just as the Muncie was the 4 speed over the Saginaw. 275 hp was the limit for the Sag.

It could have been an oversight, or for insurance, as said, OR, as happened many times, the customer/salesperson "assumed" an SS with manual trans would come with a 4 speed. Doesn't seem like that with all the other options ordered, but never say never.
It is a neat, unique, car...
