'69 Camaro spindles.

I'm taking the original disc brakes off of my '69 Camaro and installing Aerospace brakes. I want to keep all of the original disc brake parts together. What I need to know is are the drum and disc brake spindles the same? I'm going to have the spindles off so that I can replace the bushings and ball joints in the control arms, so this would be the time to change the spindles. Also, are the steering arms the same?

Disc & drum spindles are different. Disc spindles are machined different where the upper nut is. It's cut down to accept the thickness of the caliper mounting bracket. You can use your original steering arms...Joe

Thank you. I had a set of drum brake spindles but threw them away several years ago. I wish I had kept them.

Freddie there's a good article showing the disc/drum spindle differences at David Pozzi's site here: http://pozziracing.com/brakes.htm#disc_brake_spindle

If the set of spindles that you’ve found don’t work out - I have a set that you ca have.
