Sweet '70 LT1 Corvette Convertible, Warranty Block, GM of Canada Docs
Neat car...and well documented. Near the top of the list of C3s I'd like to own someday.
Kinda feel like one of us needs to buy this, if for no other reason than to throw those tires in the trash and swap on a nice set of repop pinstripe whites. Neat to see the old microfiche from GM Canada, before they stopped providing it. I think I see at least two LS5 cars on that microfilm, one stick and one auto.
One of my good friends had a black & saddle’70 LT-1 in high school in 1988. Fun memory. |
----Geez,,,I like the car! It appears to be all there and decent. But for the love of God, what's up with the height? Way to high. I guess it's correctable but why would the owner not make that right? Oh, and then there's the headers.......Bill S

Not to mention the color change. No big deal on a pro touring car, but I don't get it on a car like this. Just lost a large percentage of the audience.
|
Definitely some issues under the hood, wrong parts everywhere. Engine with a CE block, lot of those available and an easy restamp.
The biggest knock against the value is the colour change. White LT1's are super rare, it is one of the rarest for a LT1 and then a convert on top of that.... |
No-sale the last time around with a $34k max bid, and relisted in the link below.

Wow! 4:11 gear too. I bet that car is a screamer and a hoot to drive!!
|
I’m seriously looking for an LT-1 and have a number of wanted ads listed on different sites. I can’t believe how many truly outstanding unrestored cars are out there. Most are in the $50-$60k range for coupes - we are talking sub-20,000 mile cars. One 72 LT-1 with a/c and 6,000 miles is like a brand new car. However, that one is a lot more expensive!!
|
----With the change in color and the non-original engine along with headers, etc. the $34,400 is probably about a decent retail price. We will see what happens the second time. It is a good looking LT1....Bill S

To make that car "right" is going to take easy $10K or more depending on bodywork, I'm thinking higher... So at $45K you are in deep..... Bill send me that $$, I think I can do better investing for you.....LOL |
