ELG engine code

Can someone decode this engine suffix? I could not find ELG?
|
Do you have the casting date of the block?
- Warren |
EL is the suffix code. G is assembly plant ( Framingham) I believe
|
The G appears to be with the vin group, not the assembly date group.
What vin would have a G for manufacture location ? |
Ahh makes sense out if a 1966 chevelle 360hp powerglide car.
|
Ahh makes sense. Its a 66 chevelle 396 360hp PG car. Motor was in the garage car was outside covered with a tarp for the last 30 years. Really sad the shape the car is in. Owner said it was an original L78 car. Roof skin was almost rusted through.
|
G122057 is the partial vin (Framingham car). Does that match the car that is there?
|
I tried to confirm but the dam door was rusted shut. Car is in real bad shape. The owner said it was numbers matching. All I had was his word.

Engine was in a mid February build, did you get a look at the trim tag for the date and manufacturing plant?
