Helping a friend with some resto work on his 69 Chevelle 396...
He has roller tip rockers with lock nuts...wants the factory style valve covers but needs clearance for the valve train... Looking for some advice... thanks, wilma |
Hey. Those 1” aluminum spacers work perfectly.
I used them on that old racer I had. Cheers. Anthony |

I've got 1 1/4 inch Ansen spacers on mine from Speedway.

Just use these gaskets https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-1630 if it still contacts the nut, stack them = plenty of clearance.

----Tom,,,Is it the drippers that are the problem or total lack of room?.....Bill S

Valve Covers...
Not sure...the current covers are chinese junk...he has roller tip rockers with lock nuts...I aksed him to measure the space needed.
It might be easier to install a pair of aftermarket covers that have the extra room to begin with :rolleyes2: |

You must cut out the drippers and use the short poly locks from Crower

The 67 L78 that I am supposed to be getting has roller tipped rockers. I plan on running these taller OEM style rockers.

I have Comp Cams roller tip rockers under my Crane Corvette stock covers on my convertible. I just used the comp lock nuts. No issues. Just make sure you use hardened tip pushrods.
