Camaro trunk lights that I have seen have a Z-shaped mounting bracket that the bulb and mercury switch holder mount into, with no lens or reflector/hood.
There's a pretty good depiction of one in the 69 AIM on sheet U25/A1, view 'A'.

ok..its a 68 442 and works 68-72..also on other oldsmobiles
