63 Corvette Coupe 13K Original Miles

I figured I would start a thread on this car, to mirror the thread going on CF.

I helped my investing partner get this car about 18 months ago because he was smitten with my 63 fuelie. He decided vintage car ownership isn't for him at this station in life (it probably isn't for me, either) and I jumped at the opportunity to own it.

White with saddle leather interior and 13K original miles. The special part about it is that the ownership history is continuously documented back to new, and verifies the shown mileage. The original owner ordered the car from Kleinfelter Chevrolet in Lebanon, PA. He waited a long time because it was originally ordered with the KO wheels, which were never delivered. He installed a set of aftermarket mag wheels at delivery, The set of KO wheels on the car now were purchased at the parts counter in 1965, and have been with the car since.

It has been sitting a long time and I like my cars mechanically perfect, so I have lots of small items to tend-to. I don't think this is nearly the level of project I usually do, as it runs and drives fine already. I am looking forward to this being a leisurely project, with the intention of making it a solid driver and actually using it every weekend.

It was spec'd with leather interior, sintered brakes, AM/FM, 3.36 posi. It's just a 300 car but it's still pretty cool. It was undercoated heavily when new, and a prior owner endeavored to remove much of the undercoating. The frame is preserved so well that the original stencil is still totally clear.

The original leather is petrified, and I have a fully restored set of seats (and correct tires) to freshen it cosemetically.

I'll be adding some updates and Day 2 photos along the way. It had a 340 intake and valve covers added at some point, along with the deep groove pulleys. Basically cloned-out to look like a 340, but the original intake and VC are on now (still have the deep groove pulleys).

I had to haul it home on an open trailer in the rain, so it's pretty dirty at the moment.

Very cool car! Good to see you still have your 993 also!

Yes I do. I didn't drive it except to get the AC repaired last summer, and only put about 100 miles on it this year. I seriously considered selling it, but I just couldn't. It's just too nice an example to part with, even if I don't have time for it right now. I've had newer 911's but nothing compares to a 993 IMO. I sold my 356C but am looking at another one right now.

It certainly is a nice one! I put 250 miles on mine this year…the summer just seemed to get away from me. Hope to get it out this weekend, but it’s raining right now…

Thank you. I love that car, I had just gotten burned-out on Porsches for awhile and I was so focused on getting my 63 fuel car sorted the last 2 years, I have had no time for it. Now my situation is the opposite--burned-out on Corvettes and wanting to make time for the Porsches. But I need to finish this 63 and then evaluate what to sell because it's just too many cars for me at this point in time. The only ones I simply will not sell are the 993 and the fuelie.

Congrats, nice Vette! I'll be following.

Thanks guys.

Here are the new seats (Bill and other said it would be a sin to tear apart the originals, so they will be on a shelf).

And it's getting (Kelsey) 670-15's like the fuelie as soon as I get the engine running right.
