69 ZL1 Corvette Conv!! 3.14 mil

Sothebys just auctioned off a ZL1 corvette for 3.14 mil . Oh NOM.... I posted this to show the strong money it pulled for a NOM car, and obviously ultra rare.

To my knowledge NCRS & AL Grenning have not endorsed the car. Link to previous thread:https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthre...light=Corvette

That ZL-1 Corvette was around for many years with Gulf colors and is said the original owner was a friend of Don Yenko.

I believe that Kevin McCay at Corvette Repair, Inc. has endorsed the car?

----Kevin endorsed it and also brought it to it's current state. For a couple of years when I was still going to Carlisle the owner and I staid at the same hotel and had several conversations. A really nice guy. I'm a bit hazy as to weather he sold it earlier and the next owner was the current seller or not. I hope he had the pay day but whoever it was did well! Since we knew each other a bit I never believed the negativity surrounding its provenance. I believe there were people with a vested interest in that negativity.....Bill S

had to go check my memory that Kevin Suydam had the coupe still. just checked his site and its still there. Whar a cool car. Good also to see my 65 L78 red convertible is sitting behind it when it was in the Otis chandler collection line up.

I remember this Corvette from several shows around Pittsburgh in the 80's, and the gentleman who owned it always had the same background story about how he got it. I found it interesting that he said it was a Gulf Research Vehicle back in the days. An awesome car.

Awesome car and congrats to the new owner! Aren't there two other ZL-1s? A yellow one and a white one? All three are pictured in this article.
