Last week I took a trip up to northern Pennsylvania to drop off and pick up some parts. On the way back I stopped at Numedia Dragway, an NHRA sanction track to see some friends and watch some races.
If you ever want to see some great factory muscle cars try to get a chance to go to an NHRA divisional points race or a National Event.
Below are a few pictures I took in the pits and staging lanes.

One of the bad luck awards of the weekend goes to Jim Boudreau and his Golddigger car. Jim‘s car is one of the fastest big block stock eliminator car in the country and his engines are built by Lance and retired pro stock racer Jason Line. He was qualified number one for the event and unfortunately broke a valve in the first round.

Another bad luck award goes to Jerry MacNeish with his stick shift Camaro stocker.
In the first round of eliminations his new Hendrick Motorsports built engine blew up ending his day early.

Thanks Rob R. for the pics. That is me standing by the rear tire of the '69 Dusk Blue L78/L89 stickshift (3969 A/S) Camaro of my youngest brother Joe. He was the A/S record holder from 2016-2018 until the record was retired in 2018 and reset to minimum. He took the record from one of the new COPO Camaros that held the record previously. Don M.

Velde

Rob, I see on the black mustang front fender it says Velde Ford. Back in the day there was a guy named Jeff Velde that ran a red 68 fastback mustang in SS. I wonder if this black car is the same family?

I’m not sure Richard. I know Jeff Velde passed away close to 10 years ago. It wouldn’t surprise me if his family or relatives are still campaigning a car.

Don, for your brother Joe to hold the A/stick record for three years is quite an accomplishment and the car looks great.
I know there are some racers along the East Coast that take that class very seriously!

I like the paint on this '69. Period correct appearing without going overboard.
There certainly are a lot of old muscle cars at that track...:headbang:
