1967 Camaro Owners Please Read

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

For quite some time now I like many other people and groups have been doing research on 1967 Camaro Trim Tags and have amassed a fairly large data base of tags and vins. I am currently trying to focus on 67’s with special codes, some of us call them COPO codes, some Fleet Codes, etc. and are most commonly known to be found on NOR and LOS Pace Car trim tags. Whatever you may call them these are the tags I am currently seeking help in finding. If you happen to have any 67 Camaro trim tag that has either a code in the bottom line or a dash regardless of what the code is I would appreciate your help. If you are willing please pass this information along to me via post, pm, or e-mail. Pictures are preferred if possible but if not text will do. I am additionally looking for any car with special paint codes such as - - and L78 cars of all types. If you do not have one of these tags but would like to help my research and pass along your information on any other car that is appreciated as well. The information will not be made public under any circumstances without receiving the tag owners permission in advance. Below is an example of the information I am looking for-

Vin# 124677N123456
04A R (LOS cars will have a code like H123 here)
ST 67-12667 NOR123456 BODY
TR 732-Z C-1 PAINT
WD 2LG 3SL
4P 5BY-061A

Thank you in advance to everyone who helps with this,

Mike

Moderators can you make this a sticky please.

I have looked at a lot of 67 trim tags and I have never seen that code on anything other then 67 Pace Cars.

The other code on line one, i.e. H123 is a production code found on LA cars only.

Good luck with your research. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: 1967 Camaro Owners Please Read

Thanks,

I put down both examples for line one. The first being the interior paint codes as seen on Nor cars and then added an example of the LOS code for reference. In my research I have come across a number of special paint cars with an O code that were not pace cars but did have a fleet code (different codes than the IPC's) as well as some cars that have normal paint and options that have a code as well. There are a lot of theories out there on the codes at this point but I am hoping to find a few more cars or documentation with them to help in the research and narrow the possible meanings down some. So far response has been pretty good on this site through PM's but they have all bee about IPC's which is fine. I am collecting data covering everything from six bangers on up and each one regardless of dates and options helps complete the larger puzzle just a little bit more. If you have any that you can share I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Mike

I would really like to see some of these codes on tags other then Pace cars. How about posting a couple? Would be interesting to see.

Thanks
Rick H.

As soon as I am done entering them into the database I will ask the owners for permission. If they agree I will be happy to do so.

061A Code

Hi
I have a 1967 RS/SS 396 Camaro convertible ( owned for 38 years) 04A build date.

White, White top and bright bluue delux interior , running a Th400 box.
Sold by Maxton Chevrolet Worthington Ohio.( Corvette Register )

I also have 4N 5Y-061A as well as 0-1 paint code.
I've had the Pace Car Register check out box date Tag , diff/axle stamps , any signs of stickers or marks on the back of the rear view mirror, wiper motor etc as they wanted to check if it was a pacer car.
It appears not however it seems it may have been ordered as a promo model by the dealers.
So I am intrigued as to you post about 061A code.
Oh and I'm in the UK car came over around 1972.

Welcome Colin. Sounds like you have a cool Camaro there.
Just to bring this to attention, this thread IS 16+ years old, so you may not hear from the original poster...:dunno:
