Idler arm boot

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do with this boot? Bottom right of the pic. It's my born with and is in otherwise perfect condition. I'd rather keep it. For now, I just keep it greased as best as I can. I drive it all the time...

Some clear JB weld may work. Just keep it on the inner side

My Dad had a used car dealer friend that used to do a CV split boot kit that glued together to repair bad boots at a significant cost savings over changing out CV shafts. How about that glue?

What about buying an aftermarket idler arm and robbing the boot of it?
Doc.

From my experience the aftermarket boots are much different than the GM ones.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I thought about buying a new or used one with the boot and robbing it, but like Rick mentioned, they're pretty different. If I could find an original I don't even know if I could get it off the old one without destroying it.
I might try the glue idea, but with the grease permeating the rubber for 50 years as of tomorrow..., I don't know if would hold.

Thanks Joe. I'll check out Paragon and a few others and see if they know of anything.

Glue it with 3M 5200 and a thin piece of fabric on the underside. Will take many days to set-up but will hold if cleaned with brake clean first.

Thanks Steve. I'll give it a look see. I really like the looks of the glue they use on the two piece CV boot repair kits. It looks like it really holds.
