Anyone else notice the small block tach? Must have been a factory error. My 1970 L78 came the same way. I guess broadcast code 983 vs. 938 easy to confuse on a busy assembly line.
AC vent levers on the dash vents? I guess that happened sometimes, too. Good eye GotGrunt and DougA I asked the owner about the tachometer and he told me some fool sold the complete interior in 1979. He was lightening up the car with aluminum panels and was also tubbed for bigger tires. I asked him who owned the car then and he told me that HE did! Later on he reverted back so he could run Stock Eliminator. Took out the aluminum panels and the wheel tubs and put stock sheet-metal back in. Also having to source a complete interior. That is why it has a lower red line Tach. |
----Red Alert had a low red-line tach in it from the factory, but was absolutely an LS6. It was a factory error as Red Alert was an early LS6. I never changed it out but got so tired of answering all the questions and insinuations that I took the tach out and black markered the red line higher. It's still that way today!.....Bill S

He is probably running a 402, the 454 with alum heads would have to weigh 4090 to make it a C car.

Thats it ! Gene told me he did a lot of snooping around the Ray Allen /Briggs Chevrolet car while trying to set up and Prepare his car to run S/S when it was new. Last time i saw it about 6 years ago it still had a rather crude sheet metal dash still in it.

That is THE color combo for me and a Chevelle SS. I really like the Gold/Black/Black and a LS6 even better. Also stands out from all the red, blue and green cars.
