'67 Corvette 427-6bbl-400hp, Time Capsule Project Car
 

I'm guessing at least one or two of you guys are familiar with this car. Pretty cool find that clearly needs a bunch of work, and unfortunately no longer has the original block. Worth $85k?

Yes, this car has been for sale before and never sold for a good reason. IMHO, One would be upside down quite fast in restoring this car. But completed it would a striking Coupe being Lyyndale Blue with Teal interior, one of my favorite combinations.

This car has been for sale on and off for years. I wish he’d show a better picture of the tank sticker. I’ve been tempted to ask the seller if he has noticed that the front end is missing, but I can’t bring myself to go there. You’d have well over $200,000 in this car when done and you would be the last owner at that price.

Some cars just are not worth restoring. Part the car out what is good and be done with it.

With all his hot air about how rare the car is and price comparisons to past auction sales, it certainly seems like he isn't aware the entire front is missing and the frame is damaged. 30% under current values isn't even close to a realistic value of this car to restore. And yes, it is worth restoring, but it would need to be procured at 30% of his pie in the sky price

I have a friend who sells mostly Corvettes and some muscle cars. I believe he told a friend of mine that he recently sold an original 1967 BBC Vette, not sure what horsepower it was but he said the car was immaculate, for $95k. So this one is waaay overpriced.

Wow, what a windbag !!! Wrote a whole book about it's documentation and "provenance" and never ONCE mentions the fact that it is totaled and parts are missing.

Isn't this about what one of these would sell for as a driver ?

So he's, basically, justifying the price as though it is "free" because of the paperwork and "originality ???

Truly sad that the seller has held onto this and been unreasonable about it's value. I'm sure knowledgeable people in the Corvette world would love to see this, once beautiful, car restored without, as Tim G said, "knowing they will be the last owner" because of the cost to restore.
