Quadrajet Carb Stamping

10 Attachment(s)
I recently picked up this 7029270 carb along with a bunch of other parts from a guy that was into cars in the 70s and 80s. The guy was in his 80's and said he pulled the carb off a 1969 Judge in 1982ish. On a side note, he said he sold the car for $1500 back them. The carb looks to be in good survivor condition except for the broken choke pull off. I am curious about the stamp since it is a different font than I am used to seeing on Chevrolet Q-jets. I know Holleys pretty well but Rochester carbs are not something I'm sure familiar with. I checked with a few guys that I feel are in the know and they said the stamp looks good. What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Jason

Real carb and known date. Im surprised it doesnt have the big "R" ink stamp on that same side with part number.

There were carbs with everything (stampings) in one line from what I've read and there were more than one font. Not 100% sure what the XA broadcast code was but it seems correct for a GTO.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to be sure it was legit.

Jason,

I believe its a real stamping 1969 Pontiac Ram Air GTO carb and with the 39th. day of 1969 date, It should be worth $2500.00 - $3000.00 when correctly restored installing the missing choke rod, pull off ect. But what do I know? I'm a Chevy Guy. Eric Jackson would definitely know for sure.

Thanks Bill. Yes, it’s a GTO Ram Air carb. I believe this specific model was used on Ram Ait IV automatic models. The choke pull off clearly needs replacement. The pics don’t really show it since it’s dirty but the carb is actually in quite nice survivor condition.

Thanks,

Jason
