Gorgeous '68 L78 Camaro, Orig 4.88 Rear, M22, Console Multiplex

Pretty awesome '68 with GM Canada docs. I guess this is as close as it gets to 'holy grail' status for the '68 Camaro....

Cool car and great options. I wonder why Ebay ad never mentions the Motion connection or shows the owner affidavit regarding the engine swap. Seems a key piece of info to support the pricing.

No surprise the auction ended early, big congrats whoever stepped up for this amazing Motion 427 Camaro!
Looks like owner/restorer PJ hasn't posted here in a few years, good guy and hope he's Ok.

Anyone else wonder why the order form is dated Dec 68 while the affidavit states it was taken to Motion in March of 68 and the Canadian docs show a ship date of Feb 68?

Also, I really like the car but a Motion transplant later on is quite a bit different than at delivery. The difference between super cool and a Motion car. IMO

Since you couldn't order a 1968 Camaro on 12/19/68 I'm guessing it was a mistake and should be 12/19/67 since the car was shipped 2/20/68?

Certainly the price reflects the difference in "Motion" versus "Baldwin Motion". Still quite a cool car.

Would this car be considered a true Motion car, though?

If Motion performed the engine transplant it would be a "Motion" car, but historically, the market does not place a significant premium on the shop built cars that were not delivered as new "Baldwin Motion" vehicles with the Motion mods in place from day one before customer delivery. Same concept as a Nickey car delivered new with all the goodies versus a used car taken to Nickey for mods after the fact.
