It's in Pete's book - #151, built 7/31. Aluminum hood, bumpers, steel fenders, 8 lugs. Dealer 17-079, which is Colonial Pontiac in Miami Florida.

Might be worth checking where the car is exactly from in Fort Myers...

Seller states the fenders are aluminum. Be interesting to see if they actually were and where did they come from ? Cool car, I don't even mind the red interior too much, having the white stripe to break it up.

Scott Tiemen restored it so I'm sure it is correct.

Possibly just a coincidence, but a former Ohio dealer named Pete who retired to Marco Island built a white '62 SD421 clone and had it in his building for years. It was an exact copy of the car that he raced in Ohio when it was loaned to his dealership by PMD. After it's racing days, Pete had to return the car to Pontic - so he cloned an exact copy. Pete was a great guy. He died a few years ago and his cars went up for sale. Maybe just coincidental that this car is located 25 miles from where Pete's clone car was sold on Marco.

----From my days in Ft.Liquerdale and many trips to Miami for one thing or another, I remember Colonial. Don't remember it being a performance type dealer but it might have been.....Bill S

Charlie, the only thing I saw is the valve covers are 63,I guess trying to source correct 62s is very difficult.I know from being around these cars back then, when the 63s came out most put them on as they contained the oil better.Tom
