Fuel pump stamp oppinions

All,
I’m looking for some opinions and information on the following fuel pump stamp. It is an AC embossed fuel pump. Has anyone else seen a stamp like this? Is it assembly line installed or an over the counter replacement? What year does it translate as? Thanks in advance. Always looking to learn more. Cheers, Marty |

I’m no expert at all but here is my legit Sept 69 40482 AC fuel pump for my L89 corvette

In the back of older warehouse versions of AC fuel pump catalogues there were tables or charts to decode those long numbers to figure out what number pump to sell your customer. Sometimes that would come up to 40727, but if it was an older pump, a superceded pump number would be listed. As a parts man who started in the 60's, I'm saying that was an assembly line pump.

Here are original fuel pumps from three of my 427 Corvettes, all are original to the cars and have been rebuilt.

Thank you for the information.
Thank you all for the responses. So far I have 2 responses that think it is an assembly line part. The rest are confirming that early pumps were 2 letters for month and year. Later on it definitely changed. Please keep the responses coming. I'd like to continue the learning and maybe get a definitive answer on this particular pump.
Thank you, Marty |

Couldn't tell from the photos, but does it have the "heart" on the bottom? Not sure when this started but it seems most have it.

From all the pictures, it looks like the assembly line pumps have the more square "0" and the replacement pumps have the more oval "0".
