3 Attachment(s)
For Sale is a Chevrolet letter addressed to dealers stating an update about page 6 in the "Chevelle Monte Carlo and Nova Custom Feature Accessories 1970" also known as catalog RS-38.
Letter has the "Mead Bond USA" inprint that only shows up when held up to a light, so you know this is the real deal not a reprint.

$20 with free shipping to USA or Canada.

The photos of the booklet and convertible Monte Carlo are not included with the letter, i posted them so people can understand what the letter is refering to.

Letter is now <span style="font-weight: bold">SOLD</span>

Ah yes, the famous 1970 Monte Carlo convertible with a few prototypes said to have been built. I helped a friend build that exact car and exactly as Chevrolet would have built is using a convertible A-body and frame and added a working cowl induction hood and LS6 back in the 80's. Car still exists somewhere.

I`ve seen it, or perhaps another one that someone else did. Was it Shadow Gray?

Nope. Red exterior, black interior, black top and no stripes. He used a cutlass body shell and an A-body convertible frame and extended the nose of the frame using his original frame. The rear door panels and seat cover were custom made. It would be VERY hard to tell this was not made at GM as he tried to do exactly like GM would have and cut no corners. I personally felt he should have put an LS5 in it instead of an LS6 but whatever. If I recall, he put the SS454 rocker moldings on it is well but not positive. I had found a photo of it on the net a few years ago but could not find it today. It was sold at an auction 5-8 years ago if I recall. Brought pretty good money in my opinion.

I posted it over at the FGMCC as they were discussing a vert monty and there was some discussion on if one was ever made from the factory. Neat doc, and it puts that one to rest. Now everyone just wants to know if they made any LS6 Monte's (none have surfaced).
