Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
Hi Al,
Beautiful Chevelle. Beautiful. If you would like an inviation, Please e-mail me at [email protected] with a short bio on the car, and a couple photos, also Your Home Address and Phone to send the invitation to. I will have an invite sent to you, and just fill it out (It comes Snail Mail) and send it back in. The show is inviation only and limited space. Your car would be a great addition to this years line-up. As a side note any car that has been shown at this concours cannot be shown again at this concours for 3 years. This is standard to all concours shows, ie: Meadowbrook, Amelia, Greenwich etc... It's to keep the show field fresh and new each year. Especially since spectators pay $50 a head to get in. As an Invited Participant you get everything Free, including a Complimentary Breakfast and lunch, Goody Bag that's WOW, and free passes to give to friends who would like to attend. Thanks for your interest, any questions let me know. RICH. . . https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
Just came across this Photo of My Townsman and My GTX at Fort Adams in Newport overlooking Narragansett Bay. I didn't even know I had this shot. It has nothing to do with the CT Show except my wagon will be there. I just wanted to share a beautiful pic of a beautiful place. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...brePics002.jpg
Last One, here's my 74 Impala "Spirit of America" Limited Edition. 39,000 original miles. Totally Un-Restored. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...brePics001.jpg This is at The Seekonk Speedway. The guy in the pic is photographing the Impala for an Article in Collectible Automobile Magazine. REMEMBER: If you would like to have your car invited to the Concours Show in Connecticut Sept 21st, send me an E-Mail at [email protected] with a Photo, Short Bio on Car and Your Contact info, home address etc... I will say No More here. P.S. I didn't HiJack the thread, I just went off on a tangent. Sorry. |

In the Meantime, we have reached our limit for show cars. If that changes I will let everyone know, but right now we are set. Everyone who e-mailed me, has an invite coming. Let's hope for great weather. Any questions let me know. Thanks again to all the Responders. Sincerly Draginwagon https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ouguysrock.gif |
Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
Here's some coverage of the Concours event in CT. This wouldnt be too hard to get used to: free entry (the spectators have to pay $20 each to get in), catered breakfast and lunch (we're talking real caterers here, Grey Poupon and all!), free lounge chairs to entrants, even a pianist playing accompaniment on a baby grand for the whole day. Jeez!

Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
Gee, how rich do you have to be when you can tell Ferrari that you want them to rebody the Enzo into an updated version of the P4 (of which you own the original)?

He was actually thrilled to go. On the trip back he said this was the "most fun day he ever spent with Dad, ever." He then went on to say that he set a new high score on his Transformers Nintendo game... I did take him around for a few tours of the show field. He does like the "cars with the funny opening doors" - I imagine he means the McLaren, the Countachs and the Ferrari P4, and not the Kaiser Darrin a couple of rows over. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...8/S7002106.jpg |
Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
Beautiful 1971 440 Six Barrel Cuda. Blue with blue interior. Very bright. It came in second, behind the silver 1977 Countach in the 71 and up class:

Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
Thanks Steve,
GREAT Pic's. Love your son and his Games. He was into that big time. My Wife and I will be in charge next year again of building the muscle car class. The only rule is a car that was shown cannot be shown again for 3 years. So, get ready for next year. Did you notice, even in the spectators parking lot, you couldn't swing a Dead Cat without hitting a Ferrari. Or a Rolls. My Charge is to Build the Muscle Cars Class to be the BEST at any Concours in the country. With People like here on SYC, Bill, Albert, Steve, Tom (so sorry you couldn't make it) and those who are already lined up for next year, I am sure we will do it. Look for Coverage of this event in an UpComing Issue of "Sports Car Marketplace". Thanks again, IT WAS FUN. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ouguysrock.gif |
Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
I noticed there were a lot of professonal video tape crews there. Is there any internet or TV coverage coming up?
|
Re: Sept 21st in Connecticut - Looking for Muscle Cars
I thought I heard Speedvision was there and might have a segment. I do not know for sure.
Also, just FYI, Lunch for the Car Owners and VIP's was provided by Joanne Woodward and her husband Paul Newman. She hosted a VIP Lunch at the tent. My wife got to meet her. They are big supporters of the Charity and Cars of course. I am asking the show to create a "Muscle Car Class" hopefully next year, we will have our own class. I'll keep everyone posted. |
