Does it have to be a convert?

Re: WTB - 1970-1972 Olds 442 Convertible Driver
I see you want a 70-72, but a few days ago I saw a supposed original engine southern US '69 442 ragtop advertised online up here somewhere?. Seemed kind've pricey around 35 thou?...and who know's what it's like??.
That fixer upper '71 442/W30 ragtop in the 'Rotting Musclecars' thread yesterday may be available...and real??. Good luck!. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif ~ Pete |
Re: WTB - 1970-1972 Olds 442 Convertible Driver
MUST be a convertible - no rust buckets. I want a good solid 2- /3+ or better. Can wire funds day after the inspection or if fairly local I can gome with cash.

Re: WTB - 1970-1972 Olds 442 Convertible Driver
Around $195,000. Thorton Auto Body did it. The Oldsmobile guys! I believe there were 2 other verts that were in the 70-$80,000 range in those years.

Thanks all, I think I have one. Cleared the last hurdle this morning. The wife said, "if this is what makes you happy"....."go for it"! "Happy anniversary"!

The Thornton boys are doing some of THE finest Oldsmobile restos in the country. Many of the elite Olds collectors are using Troy Thornton. The car that sold at Atlantic City auction was a standard 1972 442 v-code ragtop.
