LS6
Does anyone know how many monaco orange LS6's were built?
or how many are known to exist so far? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: LS6
I sold one back in the late 90'S to a local family in the Chicago area. They owned it a while, then I saw it for sale at another muscle car dealership. Lost track of it. Had -- paint code. Can't remember how the buildsheet was overridden, but Monaco Orange was on the docs. Owner history also verified original color. As I remember, the car had a folder 4" thick with documents, receipts, resto info, etc. At that time, we had heard of a possible automatic car of the same color, so we advertised it, at the time, as the only known 4 speed. I'm sure more have been discovered in the last 10 years. Here's a link to the old ad:

Re: LS6
That's an old NCOA decal in the quarter window! It was born no stripes, no cowl hood. Someone before us put the pins on the hood.

Re: LS6
I sold one two years ago. On the build sheet it has 80615 1001PA bypass code 6 and written by hand it reads Solid 926-99539 Red A.L-White D88 Stripes. In box 44 of the build sheet it has special hand written with no codes. It also has the-- on the trim tag and was built at the Baltimore plant Jan 70.

Re: LS6
This is the same one from Canada. They list it as Vitamin C orange (writer must be a Mopar fan). It is up for sale in 2 weeks. http://www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCar...amp;CarID=r007

Re: LS6
It might just be the pictures, but the Canada car doesn't look
Monaco Orange. It looks lighter. |
Re: LS6
Ah yes, the rare paint delete option - I remember when they used to back them off the car carriers in raw steel. Those were the days https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: LS6
special paint cars were delivered to dealerships without paint?

Re: LS6
------There is another orange LS6 in Jeffersonville Ind. (no stripes or cowl induction). It still belongs to the original owner, has less than 10,000 miles, and still has its original paint. The original engine is on a stand and there is an over twenty year old crate motor in it that has never been started, not even completely plumbed. I have tried to buy it more than once and always been turned down. Its been a long time since I was last there but Im sure its still exactly where it was when I last saw it. At the time I never thought to look at the color-tag........Bill S

Re: LS6
I watched that car go across the block Saturday afternoon at RM for 167,500. Nice looking car.

Re: LS6
my ls6 was special ordered monaco orange, still has its original paint on the car, has the - - for the paint code.
but has no paint codes on the build sheets either. has the zl2 hood, originally stripe delete. stripes were added by original owner. just curious on how many are out there. |
Re: LS6
Anyone see what the black Hemi Roadruuner pulled at the RM Auction Fort Lauderdale I think it ran close to the orange Chevelle.
|
Re: LS6
I didn't see the Hemi Roadrunner go across, I left at 5" just after the LS6. I did see a smoking red/black GTX go across with no reserve for 42K. I thought that was an absolute steal. Another thing I noticed, a LOT of out of country buyers, with the dollar in the tank, the foreigners were buying.
