Ted Nugent; Deer Hunter vs French journalist

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...orrectness.jpg

Ted Nugent, an avid hunter, was being interviewed by a French journalist:

The journalist asked, "What do you think the last thought is in the mind of a deer before you shoot it? Is it, "Are you my friend?" or is it "Are you the one who killed my brother?"

Nugent replied, "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French."

Could you imagine it coming down to Hillary Vs. Ted AKA Mr. Cat Scratch Fever.......Man that would be fun.

Just for the record, Ted has stated numerous times he has never taken any drugs nor drank. He got his start in Rock & Roll about the same time the first gens were hitting the streets. He has said that instead of the drug and booze abuse that so many others faced his vice was that he never turned down a hot looking groupie~

Re: Ted Nugent; Deer Hunter vs French journalist

I'd like to know under what circumstances Nugent was a draft dodger. When did he admit it? What did he say?

There were many of us who in the late '60's and early 70's got wise to the fact that that low life SOB (and other words that can't be used here), along with the even lower POS Robert McNamara, et al, were doing nothing more than deciding on a daily basis how many young American men would be political canon fodder that day. This was in fact the beginning of our affection for PC war, limited engagement and excessive guilt over 'collateral damage', which is a part of any GD war. You don't get your own men killed to save of few so-called "innocent" victims! Did we warn Hiroshima so the 'good' Japanese could flee????

This is why many Viet Nam era Americans loath LBJ and his America hating administration much in the same way the Jewish people hate Hitler. I hope to God LBJ and his ilk are burning in Hell right now.

If this was the stand Nugent took I support it 100%. My lottery number was 157 or so and I had already made up my mind that while I would die in a TRUE war, I would not die in vain and senselessly in a PC war that we had absolutely no intention of winning and certainly not for LBJ.

One of my best friends came back from Nam with his lower jaw blown off. A once 230lb. football player came home in a wheel chair weighing no more that 125lbs. and within a year could no longer stand the suffering and took his own life. Thanks LBJ!

Re: Ted Nugent; Deer Hunter vs French journalist

Though I have no opinion on this or its validity (like some cars at the BJ auction) here is an excerpt from one of many sites that have similar stories about Ted.

5. Q: Ted Nugent Served in Vietnam? A: False. For all his right wing rhetoric and tough talk during the Gulf War, Terrible Ted was a yellow-livered draft dodger. In fact Ted went to great lengths to fail his army physical. He fasted for a week and drank pot after pot of coffee to drive up his blood pressure. He didn't bathe for weeks and showed up with a turd in his pants and another in his hair. Uncle Sam found Ted unfit for military service.

(this is the same old story that has been around for more than thirty years. I have even met people that told me they did something similar to stay home.)

I don't usually get into political discussions, but if Ted did what he did to avoid the draft, maybe in the long run that was the better thing for others concerned. If he was that much against holding a rifle in the rice patties and told to kill people......would you rather have him drafted anyway only to have him next to you in battle when you're depending on him.?

Some people are cut out for it and some are not. If he managed to figure out a way to not be there, it just might have been better for those who were there and needed to depend on him.

I don't know Verne. I think a lot of guys would have been
happy to poop in their own hat if that would have kept them
out of Charlie's back yard. I don't fault him for not going.

My dad stormed the beaches of Normandy and went to
the end of hostilities in Berlin. He did not want me or my
older brother to go to Vietnam under those circumstances.

Maybe we better let this one alone. Old wounds.........
Slick Willie dind't go either, and he became President. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Verne, as always your voice of reason prevails. There was nothing worse than having someone next to you in the service that you counted on, but they were unable to come through. I had one sad suborinate respond to an order with "You can't make me care". I never asked him to do another thing. He was very alone. Sad.

ok let's lighten it up a little here; https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a Naval conference that included admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies.

At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a group of half-dozen or so officers that included personnel from most of the countries.

Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked: "Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?"

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: "Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German."

Suddenly the group became very quiet.

The elderly American gentleman arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he fumbled for his passport.

"You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.
The old gent admitted that he had been to France previously.

"Zen, you should know enough to have your passport ready for inspection."

The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible. You Americans alwayz have to show your passports on arrival in France!"

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained,
"Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach in '44
I couldn't find any Frenchmen to show it to.

It is interesting to me that even today you can not find a thread on the entire Internet about Vietnam that does not eventually turn personal, bitter, hateful and then locked.

But, we are above that! Hell, we've got a pres on TV right now that is hinting of making us run corn squeezings in our hot rods!

Ray,

That's because the whole war was handled quite badly from
Washington's side. Then, these brave guys came home only
to get spit on, etc.. That wound never heals. Now, they
go into a quick-mart gas station and see a Vietnamese
family working there and probably owning the establishment.

Bitter, yeah, I think so. My father told me once that when
he came home from WWII and went to college, some of the
younger students would throw firecrackers and the like just
to see the "shell-shocked" ex-GI's dive for cover. In those
circumstances, they got their a$$es beat.

The Vietnam era guys didn't get closure. It's our fault.
We owe them more... OK, I'm done.

I do know that Courtney Love tells a story about Ted fooling around with her when she was 12. He started dating his first wife when she was 13. So he is at least a pedophile.

I love to eat deer though. I have on in the freezer.

The last time i saw Ted, was at a concert here in grand rapids, this spirit of the wild trip he was on killed the show for me, he used the word spirit in every song ten times,"I got you in a strangle hold baby SPIRIT" you get the idea. then he said he was going to run for governor if the democratic team won, can you imagine that? opening day of deer hunting would be a michigan holliday,i always liked Ted, but he always pushed everything a little far, this guy might not have done drugs or drank, but his well back home was a little shallow But his coment with the french journalist was on the mark.

What link does Ted Nugent have to Northwestern Illinois???

Well he went to high school in Arlington Heights...but his family lived two streets away from us in Palatine. He was at home for one Halloween...weird is all I can say when we trick or treated at their house. His mom was nice though..she worked in downtown Palatine.

I agree 100%. The real enemy was/is our own F'd up, lying, self-destructive govt. of criminals (I should not have read Dereliction of Duty by H.R. McMaster). Plus I lost friends and lived with my fingers crossed while my older brother was there. My brother is still so bitter and angry that I can't stand to be around him. I've seen him twice, without speaking, in the past 10 years...my mom's and then may dad's funeral.
