before and after

as you may have seen the recent Baldwin Motion Vette photo, you know I'm going through tons of photos. These two I put together. Very sad. Does anyone remember buying a 10 year old chevelle (67 in 77) for $100. and driving it later that day?

those photos are switched, thats before on the bottom and after getting cut off by a bus on a wet road on the top next to the 66GTO

Neat old photos. Too bad someone had to lose to obtain them. I love looking at these cars from back in the day. People need to post more as they come along. There is a thread going on Team Chevelle right now asking for people to post their old photos. If you haven't done so already you should post them there as well. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

thanks Rick, that original paint Madeira Maroon was towed into the shop. Ran but wouldnt move. Owner said trans tune up only. It still wouldnt go. he lived upstate and accepted a $100 offer. thinking even if it needed a new power glide how tough was that? On the lift that night we got started only to find the flywheel bolts sitting in the inspection cover. Popped them back in and off we went. I traded the car to my best friend for a 327 to put in my Impala. He is the one who had the unfortunate ride with the bus.

It's not a Chevelle, but I bought this in 1980 for $400. I still remember some guy asking me if I wanted to sell it the very first time I drove it. Notice the front plate https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif (I still have mine too!)

Here's a vintage picture of my 1970 Nova SS 396, the Deer Slayer. This was taken around '72 after the original owner's wife tagged a deer in Iowa.

Here's my USA-1 plate contribution (still have it). Notice the plate is on the dash. Local police didn't like it on the front. Photo taken about 1984. Dig those deep dish cragars! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Hey Chris... You mentioned "upstate" in your follow-up post, and I know where you used to live. Do you know where the '67 went after the wreck? The reason I ask is that if it was in the area I am thinking, it is quite possible the LF fender ended up on this car. I pulled a original paint Madeira Maroon fender off a '67 at Molts Salvage in East Park in 1979-1980 and it ended up on this car. Probably graping at straws, but a cool thought. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...velle283pg.jpg

Re: before and after

I believe the maroon 67 was wrecked in 81, the fenders were both unusable. Probably crushed on long island. Still with original paint. damn. that hurts talking about it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif
