Terry Carney,,,R.I.P.

------I have just heard that my good friend and partner, Terry Carney lost his battle with cancer this past weekend. Although Jan and I had been expecting this news sometime in the near future, it still is enormously painful. Once you were Terrys friend you were his friend forever. We will miss him greatly!!!!........Bill S

Bill, I know that you knew Terry for years and years. I was sorry to hear the news this morning. I saw him on Saturday and his family only hoped his passing would come quickly.
His last words to me were "come visit me next time you're in town".

Very sorry to hear that Bill. You two were together so much that when I first met you guys I kept getting the two of you mixed up. He was one of the good guys.

Terry was also my good friend and partner. I will miss him a lot. Like Bill said, once he was your friend, he was your friend forever. He always had a positive attitude.
Even when I saw him just before his first Chemo session he was very upbeat.
I remember one of his favorite things to say to me was: I'm having so much fun with these cars, it should be against the law.

I will miss him greatly. RIP Terry.

Bill

My wife Sue and I visited him several times, the last time being the day he passed. All family members were there. Memorial Service at St Bede's in Ingleside, IL. at 10 am tomorrow. We worked Metro Milwaukee many a day. I'll miss him.

They are trying to gather all his parts, model cars, cars, etc. and sell evrything off to gain some money for his daughter Shancey. The house is going to be sold. I'm not sure what's going to happen with the Ram Air GTO and War Bonnet Vette at Dana's in Florida. Everything has to be liquidated to benefit his daughter. He's got some rare parts.

By the way, the family is having an "Irish Funeral" at Fast Freddies in Fox Lake some time after the memorial!

I have also known Terry for about the last five years, but it felt like I knew him for my whole life. Terry was that way he was a real car guy and a great friend. you knew it was Terry calling when the first words you heard were "HEY HOT SHOT". I know where ever Terry is now he is making people smile. GOD BLESS YOU TERRY.

I wish I could be there today for the services and go to Fast Freddies. That's where he, his cousin and I would always meet for lunch when I was in town. They all knew Terry there, what a character. We'd head up to Volo Auto Museum and he'd just hammer on the young girl that sold admission tickets to let us in for free. He knew the owners from years of visiting Volo and she'd always cave in and say "go on in". If I tried to pull money out, he'd say "no way are we paying to get in this place". Glad I got to see him on Saturday, afterward I drove to Volo Auto Museum and paid admission for the first time, it was a sad walk around the place.

My sincere condolensces go out to Terry's family during this difficult time.
I first was introduced to him several years ago by Jan S when she and Bill brought Red Alert to Vettefest. We immediately engaged in a conversation that lasted at least half an hour. Having grown up in the Chicago area and involved with cars since the late '70s, I'm not sure how we hadn't met before that day.
Whenever I saw him after that, BG, NCRS meets, the Mecum auctions, he ALWAYS greeted me with a good word, a pat on the back, and a smile. The only exception was the last Vettefest when he told me of his condition. I knew it was serious, but hoped that it wasn't going to be our last meeting.
R.I.P Terry, you left us way too soon.
