71 AMX 401 330HP 4 speed with go package, how many of these cars were made and do you think this is one of the cars that may go up in value in the future with the out of reach prices for most on the camaro`s, chevelles ect... Fred (prototype) you may know about these. Thanks.

Production was 2074 Javelin AMX model in 1971. This would be the best year to get, if considering a '71 to '74 car. Highest horsepower, lowest production, 4spd definitely more desireable!

A car came up for sale up here and it is a Amx with the go package, original motor and trans and rear end 102,000 miles, factory silver with black vinyl roof and stripes, black interior,original 15x7 rallies, original space saver, 99% rust free 2 very snall bubbles near the rear wheel factory cowl induction hood, rallye pack tach gauge package, front and rear spoilers, front and rear sway bars, disc brakes, posi rear end (twin grip) dual exhaust, ps/pb. and the 330 hp, 430 f.p. torque 401 engine and 4 speed. Good car for someone to restore.

I've seen production figures around 750 for the 401 cars, but I don't know if it is AMXs or total Javelins.

The car will need a restoration, has sat for approx. 10 years. I will post some pics when i recieve them. The car is about 3 hours north of where i live.

still waiting for the bubble to burst on the AMC's. i would say grab them while there still affordable.

The asking price is 15,000. I think it has the original exhaust manifolds with it as well as 3 of the original rallye wheels.
