Looks pretty deep for an XT stamp.

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like it got hit hard enough that you would want to check and see if it was bent

You racers all think alike, Pete...worried about a set of XT's being straight...no one can tell a bent XT from a straight XT sitting still! LOL!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

You can see the side-to-side marks from the grinder where they tried to "erase" the previous code.

Hey Stefano...where did you get these wheels from...ebay...? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: XT Wheel Stamp

Got them from someone professing to sell "original" XTs. Imagine my disappointment about 20 seconds after opening the box.

What you can't see in the pics is that the metal where the stamps are is lower than on either surrounding side. It is concave.

Also check out the far end of the X's they have a small circle like as if a scribe/punch or drill bit was used to help line the X up.

The stamps are deeper than any I have ever seen. Also, never seen a double stamped XT, much less two with a similar mistake back to back. Could happen I guess?

The grinding marks just crack me up, at this point. The for sale pics were not quite as detailed and these issues were not apparent.

Does anyone consider these to be factory originals based on experience?

It never ceases to amaze me the extent some people will go to pull one over on someone.

No kiss...right to screwdriver.

What is the sellers name? I would like to avoid him. PM me with it if you don't want to post it.

Re: XT Wheel Stamp

Stefano sorry you are in the house of pain. The IF wheel apprears to be the exact same wheel, just the Pontiac version I believe. Also beware there is an actual "repro" of the XT wheel on the market . I haven't seen them personally, but I know they are out there now. Stop by if you want to look over some original wheels in person for reference.

Re: XT Wheel Stamp

I'm interested in buying IF or those repop XT wheels if I find the vendor. My 69 Camaro came with 14" wheels, but Im still not certain what specs they are (14x6"??). I would like to simulate a realistic factory look....
Below pic is as I bought and before misc detailing and adding of accurate parts and pieces.......

Chuck, 14 x 7 steel wheels would be correct. Haven't seen the repops yet..someone told me they had some at Carlisle last year..not sure.. IF wheels are a good choice if you can find them. If you are not worried about codes then consider having Stockton Wheel make you some. They made me a set of 15 x 7 using old 14" wheels and then modifying. 4 1/2" backspacing...they look good and you can run a 15" wheel/tire..tw

Re: XT Wheel Stamp

I think Allcamaro had some repos here awhile back.

Re: XT Wheel Stamp

Thanks to all, I have the above car, now back in Seattle. I have never driven on the above tires as they are some brand X bias ply.....I have been driving(Power Tour,Fred Gibb)on the 15" Rallies & Goodrich TA's (Black Wall out).......but would like to come up with a wheel/tire combo that I can drive to local shows this summer....I'm already upside down($$)with car, so as usual I'm too cheap, to buy correct Goodyear repops....just not sure what direction to go with 14" tires...I could use the 14" Firestone repops I bought from COKER (for my 70 L-78)

IF wheels were used in 69 at the VanNuys Plant on Camaros. My buildsheet can confirm that and so does the CRG site.
