I would have flown to the Vettefest to see that car alone. How many times have I seen pictures of that car in the past 35 years only to hope to see the real thing. I'd love to see it with the front wheels off the ground.

Pascoe in the A/MP sometimes match race Pro Stock 69 camaro of the Arone Boys! I can here it now on the radio... Those are both so bad ass!! Yeah, I am talking like an 18 year old, even though my youngest child is way over that. Now wonder we love these cars.

I know it isn't vintage, but attached is a pic I took of my buddy Greg Porter's 3rd gen Firebird launching. Runs in the 8s with a 316 inch Chevy, single four barrell and no nitrous, no turbo, no blower. I get to wrench on it from time to time and it is always a blast.

I bet Ken Montgomery would want a piece of that action with the 68 HEMI that is sitting in his garage.
My money is on Kenny, I watched him Spank Grumps A$$ 2 out of 3 with his 68 Barracuda at Atco Many Years ago…

Re: Grumpy's Toy launch

Thats true! Spanked him at Maple Grove a few times also. Still has the car in original paint from the 70's yet.

For sale cheap: old white race car with ill fitting front end caused by three foot wheelstands, used up & badly "spanked". Will consider trades of whatever piece of crap you might have that needs resto.

How about trading for a funny car? Not for sure who's it is, need to check with the "experts". https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

Sam,
I bought this car from Johan Gustafsson three years ago. He´s the guy that made it fly ! He used a GM 454 block and crank with aftermarket aluminum rods, heads, intake and waterpump etc. The engine put out around 800 hp he said. It was coupled to a manual shift TH 400 followed by a lot of Mark Williams parts. The rearend was attached to the frame with parts he made himself. Johan knew what he was doing. He kept the engine, put a stronger crank in it and a supercharger on it, and made 2000 hp. His Pro Modified car made 202 mph in 6.95 seconds with it last summer.
My intention was to take the car back to the streets, since it was a factory SS 396 with a solid body. So I put the original rearend back, now with 4.56:1 gears and a posi unit. I kept the trans, but replaced the engine with a 396 from a 1970 Chevelle. It made only 500 hp on the dyno, so the car won´t fly this high next summer. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

So Sixties.Whats up with the Camaro.I havent heard aout it in a while.Any pictures of it?

BTW.I was wondering. What was the deal with Toy#7.I have only seen a few pictures of the car but not much mention of it over the years. It looks like it could have been the car that Strcik later ran on his own.Does anybody know much about this car?

Rich, I plan to have the car at York again, next to Jenkins' booth. Pictures have been posted on the site from both York, and, Chevy Vettefest.
