Re: 69 Camaro- need help w/suspension inspection marks
Take a look in the Bad Factory Welds post. My L-78 Camaro is a 20K mile car and all the paint marks are original. All I did was clean up the suspension although the springs are NOS and the a-arms have been repainted.

Re: 69 Camaro- need help w/suspension inspection marks
GREAT pictures. Yours is the first I have seen (other than my car) with pink on the left steering knuckle and white on the right one. Several guys have told me that it isn't right, but that is sure what was on mine from the factory.

Lynn, what are some details on your Camaro? Build Date, Factory, SS 396, etc. Thanks,

Re: 69 Camaro- need help w/suspension inspection marks
Lynn, in Pauls pics, it looks like pink is on both the left and right steering arms. I dont see any pink anywhere, on either spindle.
The drivers side spindle looks to have teal on the top and lavender (maybe thats what you call pink) on the bottom. The passenger side looks to have a white stripe in the middle of the spindle and green where to steering arm and caliper bracket bolt to the spindle. Paul, there are no paint markings on the top of the passenger side spindle? Let me know what you are seeing. Thanks in advance everyone! TM |
Re: 69 Camaro- need help w/suspension inspection marks
On a side note-
Kenny Pascoe's old 18,000mi Z28 03D car https://www.yenko.net/photos/showgallery.php/cat/533 shows these marks: Passenger side- white? on bottom ofspindle, and it appears nothing on the top. The steering arm end is orange. Drivers side- White? (could be teal or same color as Pauls) on the top of spindle, lavender on the bottom of spindle and orange on the steering arm end. Let me know what you are thinking. I'm ready to put these marks on my suspension as soon as i can it figured out. Thanks again! Tommy M. |

Lynn, what are some details on your Camaro? Build Date, Factory, SS 396, etc. Thanks, Paul [/ QUOTE ] Sorry for the slow response. I was out of town a couple of days and then got the flu. Haven't felt like sitting at the computer. My car is 08A X77 D80 car, the 381st one ordered after the BDY reset first week of August 69. BDY number 100381, VIN 124379N671122. I was looking for pics I took before disassembling the front suspension, but don't know where there are at the moment. I am pretty sure the only ones that were still visible were the pink (seems like it was almost red) and white ones I referred to. Lynn |
Re: 69 Camaro- need help w/suspension inspection marks
When I did the inspection markings on my 12C X77 Norwood car I used two separate sets of instructions, One issued by Quanta, which is the company that make the inspection marking paint, and the other was a old document that was issued by the US Camaro club. I compared the two plus asked a couple experts, as my car had no marking to follow. I believe you can do the whole car with 4 colors. (White, Yellow, Blue & White) If you are interested in seeing these instructions I can scan them and e-mail or fax you a hard copy. By the way, How is the home of the Maroons doing this time of year?

My Mistake! I was thinking about Menomonie, MI up by the MI/WI border. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Bump for an old thread on inspection markings in the hope that the missing Photobucket linked pics could be refreshed, or see if there is a similar thread still alive.
Thanks, Bill |
I just posted some pics of the marks I found on my front suspension. They can be seen in the COPO section under Rat's Nest.
