Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Check out this one. Very late VIN, claims one of ten Garnet red Yenkos. Guy adamantly claims in one of his answers to the questions that the VIN of his car is on the Yenko VINs. Gives some story about the car being sold by Yenko to a race track in Pensacola, an engine blown, and a new one put in then sold again. MAYBE this car was sold new from Yenko, but it is not A Yenko. Am I right? 69 garnet red "Yenko" e-Bay https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Seems kind of strange for a "real" Yenko to have a "buy it now" price of $48k. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
It appears to have an AC dash. Unless the dash has been changes, that would verify the fact that is not a Yenko.

James [/ QUOTE ] Well, the white interior would be another good sign its not a Yenko...although it all looks to be repro anyhow. The dashpad seems to be the only AC piece, as the kickpanels are non/ac, as is the heater controls. The VIN is way too late, not even close to any known Yenko VINs from what I can see...Interesting lack of engine bay pics, wonder why he doesn't show off what's under that trick hood scoop? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif PS...Did you note that it's "one of 10 in Garnet Red"? Now if we could just find the other 9.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
And in the auction he clearly states that it is the orignal dash. So, I guess we are all to believe that GM made a mistake and put in the wrong dash? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
He tries to belittle one of the people asking questions about the car and says something like "new information is comming (his spelling, not mine) out all the time" and that he worked "for GM as a service guy for 15 years". Why do we need all of the experts here on this site? We can just go to Mr Goodwrench-- he'll set us straight. |
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Looks Burgundy to me. I invited him to check the vin list on this site but have not heard back. If he mentions Greg at DPE we know we have a winner.

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
My favorite part of the car is the HUGE speaker boxes in the rear window. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Could not someone get the car for free by using the buy it now price and then sueing the bastard. He would have to come up with some kind of proof that it is real when we all know it is not.
I like the looks of it and would love to own it for the $15k it's at now.! |
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
When was the last time anyone of you saw a Yenko with Torque Thrusts?
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Or, when's the last time we didn't!

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
hey! Whats wrong with that? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
.... and on went the; Cragars, alum. slots, chrome slots... I know, I know,

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Ok, now it has gone and gotten me really confused. Someone posted a question saying that he owns a 69 Yenko VIN 587056. The VIN is good, but he states that the trim tag shows the following: PNT 76 with 714 INT. He also says it is an SS/RS VE3 car? The colors conflict with the list which says it is a LB car. And what exactly is a SS?RS VE3 car? Does someone here own that car?
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
VE3 is the RPO code for the Endura front bumper and special accompanying load rest for the jack. Stil doesn't explain what this "Yenko" is supposed to be though.

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
CHeck out the questions section of the car at the beginning of this link. The info I gave is in one ofthe questions. Seems kind of strange. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
If I had to guess, it looks like hes asking himself the questions... same typos, same weird misinfomation in the questions as in his answers... either that or there are alot of totally clueless people out there shopping for cars... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
I would also venture a guess that he is either bidding it up himself or has a friend helping. The high bidder right now lives only 9.45 miles from the seller. They have the same area code for thier phones. Coincidence? MAYBE

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
the one guys VIN is listed but hes says it has D80
[ QUOTE ] Vin# 124379N587056 Cowl info Color PNT-76 INT-714 D80 This car is one of the RS/SS VE3 cars. Any of your information will only be used to help other SYC owners [/ QUOTE ] Too early for that VIN to have a D80 ono the tag. Would like to see a pic of this tag |
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Who owns that LB Yenko? Marlin.....any insight? He gives what appears to be a partial email address of [email protected]. Does that email belong to anyone here?
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
I have emailed mogmiler back and forth before. Nothing he told me pointed to a Yenko as I recall but I don't think I had the vin. I think he got the car from his Dad or something like that ? We should try to sort it out.
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Well, the VIN he gave as I said points to a LB Yenko sold new out of Stauffer in Scranton, PA.

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
You have to go to page 4 to get in focus trim tag pics...the ones on page two suck!

Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
The car was originally Champagne with a black top... Champagne is actually a very rare color on a 69 Camaro, however, they made as many Champagne 69 Yenkos as they made Garnet Red....zero. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
10 c with an X-code can't have that vin# either.
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
10C if its a very late build can have it. You have to remember that the 69 model year was extended. And with a 7xxxxx VIN this car would have a "X" code
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
I wondered if that read 10C.I thought it could have read 08C or 06C.I thought the first # had tar in it.How did you read it resto4u.I tried zooming with windows picture and fax viewer.
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
Champagne is a great color, but NEVER offered as a Yenko..BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
The interior doesn't match the trimg tag. It looks like 711 interior on the trim tag.
|
Re: Garnet Red ?Yenko? E-Bay
711 is black right,I read it as 715=std dark blue and thats worse for 63-B=champagne+black vinyle top.
