I remember the Orange track and the little white "Garages" tthat had foam wheels and shot the cars down the tracks. I think all of that stuff is still at my grandmothers house...hmmmmm.

I was watching Ultimate Cars on discovery channel last night and they were doing Ultimate Power Cars, the #1 car was the 68 440 Charger and a guy they were interviewing that had one said he always wanted one and he sold his Hotwheel collection to get it!!. Yes i know what your thinking "a 68 charger is #1???", well the way they were thinking is that they were the best bang for your buck.

Being the packrat that I am, I still have all of my original redline hotwheels from 1968 to 1972 (about 75 or so cars). I also have all of brother's hotwheels. His were much nicer as he used to just look at them and then put them back in their case without smashing them into each other like normal boys did. Sizzlers!!! Man I loved those things!! A friend of mine when I was a kid had a Sizzler train also. I guess you can find such things on e-bay if you are dilligent enough about searching...

I too collect Hotwheels, Matchbox and Johnny Lightning cars. I do not have too many original cars though. But the few vintage cars I have, have come from www.thetoypeddler.com . The sellers on this site have great stuff. There is a small fee to join the website ($5 I think) but it is well worth it for the collector!

When hot wheels came out I pretty much abandoned my Matchbox cars...we used to set up the track and dead end it into a wall at the bottom of the stairway !!! The Eldo lasted the longest !!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

The stopwatch was ticking and the first email was within 10 minutes! They aren't for sale though, as these were the exact cars I have owned since age 6. These are "Original Owner Hot Wheels" What does that add to the value??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

What is a redlines? I see some hotwheels for sale at fleamarkets almost every weekend. I have no idea what they are worth. There was about 100 of them (still new in the boxes) a few weeks ago. Guy asked $1 to 3 each for them.

Sounds like I need to learn about them?

There is a new breed of yard salers out there, they go to all the yard sales (and flea markets) and then sell stuff on e-bay.

my dad has a ton of those old hotwheels and matchbox and some sizzlers as well (the biggest pack rat i know) would prolly sell some email me if you like [email protected]

My luck but I was too old to collect ano or play with these when I was a kid. I was lucky to get the models off the display wall down at "Fred Jones Ford" at the end of the model year. Daddy was drinking buddys with all the salesmen down there.

He died in '61 when I was 15. I also had a few of the original AMT models kits that I had built, but by then I had outgrown them. (Girls you know) So when we moved my mother gave all my collection to my second cousin on daddys side of the family and he gave them to his kids to play with and they destroyed them. She told me later that she didn't think I wanted them anymore. It was about a year before I discoverd that they were not at the new house. Man was I pissed when I found out. I had the Ford factory models of the '54 ford with the first V-8 and best of all the '55, '56 & '57 t-bird and others that are worth a ton nowadays.
