Re: Kruse auction in Auburn
i gather that the 68 was bid up to that price minus the paperwork as it seems to me that the paperwork was missing before it hit the block. I wonder how that effected this guys bid on the car if it effected it at all?. Still 1.05 mill missing the paperwork!!

Re: Kruse auction in Auburn
I'm confused. If the owner has had the car at a couple auctions and not sold at >1mill., then either put a price on it or take it to BJ. They sell for more $ at BJ because no reserve actually promotes bidding, because the car will be sold. If you keep auctioning and never pulling the trigger, people will eventually not show up to bid because in all likelyhood the owner won't sell anyway. Maybe he is testing the water before BJ, maybe if it was just advertised at his price with the high profile brokers/buyers he wouldn't have had to keep messing with the auction scene and still have the original paperwork. Sorry for the rambling, its such a special car handled in a confusing way for me, IMO.

Re: Kruse auction in Auburn
The guy that was the high bidder has been trying to buy the car for awhile.I think his name is Becker. He is from AnnArbor, MI.He was quoted in the paper"I think the car is worth about $1.5 million".What I dont undestand is why you would buy a car like that from an auction when you have already been talking to the owner. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gifI dont know if any Superbirds went thru.In a few days check the results on the Kruse web sight. The red prototype Z-16 Chevelle was there, didnt see it go thru.

Re: Kruse auction in Auburn
Jim, Do you know who owns the Z16. There is a Chevy dealer in Greenville SC that owns a red Z16 that is supposed to be one of the 2 prototype/test cars. At least, I think he still owns it. The last time I was at his dealership it was gone. His name is Kevin Whitaker(sp).
