L78 Nova question
I was looking at a 70 Nova today it was a matching #L78 4 spd car. The car had the cumputer broacast card with it, in the lower left corner there was a box marked copo with ZJO in the box. Does anybody know what that means? Thanks

Re: L78 Nova question
It's a 68 Chevy Super Sport.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Seriously, that's one of the South America / Mexico wherever the hell produced ones.. They didn't call them Nova there because Nova in spanish means No Go... So they just called the car a Chevy. Didn't they buy the tooling and produce the early Nova body style up till like '78 or something? Still called it a Chevy though. I think most all of them has the straight six too.. So do I get a cookie? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Re: L78 Nova question
No cookie for you Ed. It appears that's just an "urban legend." https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif Nova=No go

Re: L78 Nova question
I would like to know what's the story behind the 4 door SS Nova pictured in the ad above. Did they really produce those and sell them in foreign countries? How about a 4 door L-78, talk about sleeper.

Re: L78 Nova question
I checked Nova Resource .org, and didn't find ZJ0 listed anywhere...
Sorry no help. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: L78 Nova question
Either way about the "Nova" meaning in espaniol.... I do know I'm right about this car being called a Chevy in the
'southernmost land' and this is probably a 6cyl model 4dr with SS trim.. Am I right Rick? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: L78 Nova question
Thanks Zman. Rick The one I looked at looked like that car minus the front gaurds. Anybody else was that copo box maybe used to identify something else like tires or wheels.

Re: L78 Nova question
Southland = Argentina, there is a large contingency of Nova enthusiasts down there with very unique looking Novas. They are a mix-n-match of Gen I and Gen III parts, pretty neat!

Re: L78 Nova question
But what does ZJO mean ?

Re: L78 Nova question
I think that is side chrome stripes. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: L78 Nova question
John,I apologize for changing the subject,I didn't mean to sidetrack your original question.I can not find any info on ZJ0.
Only ZJ1=Custom Interior,ZJ2=Custom exterior. As for the picture I posted, that is from a box of 1970 items I came across, and that is a 1970 Nova Brochure released for the Brazil/Argentina market. It's all in a foregin language,so I can not decipher it.But I agree it was probably an L-6 250 CID 175HP@ 4400 RPM 9:25:1 Comp, at best in the 4 DR. SS model, according to the brochure. I also have a 1969 Chevelle,as well as a 1970 Chevelle Brochure from Brazil too. The 69 Chevelle is a VERY odd 7X13 inch brochure, with girls in Poofy flower dresses standing around an Aztec Mexican background.Great color of a Gold 2Dr,& Blue 4Dr. 1969 Chevelle displaying mag wheel hub caps, and showing all it's detailed features.Again only engine talked about is the L-6.No SS models shown. The 1970 Chevelle Brazilian Brochure takes on a Lawrence of Arabia theme, with a Shiek wielding a sword out in the Desert, standing atop a White 1970 Chevelle, wearing what appears to be Buick Skylark chrome Mag rims.No SS model shown.Same similar detail shots as before, with a woman smoking a Cigar in the Backseat.Data sheet reveals same engine availability as in 69. Here is a 1970 Chevy Brazilian Truck brochure. http://mclellansautomotive.com/photos/B27464.jpg |
