Power BIG Meet
I just came home from THE meeting over here. I will try to attach some pictures and tell you something about it at the end of this week.
You can take a look at the 2003 meet at www.bigmeet.com We met a guy with a -68 Hemi Coronet R/T. He bought the car in the Chicago area back in -83, payed 3500$. He lived there from -83 to -86. The car had been sitting under a tree for years with a bad bearing on the crankshaft and was rusty, but with the original drivetrain still in the car. VIN WS23J8G190XXX. It was silver(AA1) with black vinyl top. My VIN-decode expert (Hans Olsson) spotted the HEMI-emblem while we cruised through town last evening. Anders |
Re: Power BIG Meet
I forgott to tell what happend when we were sitting in Classe Mörtögas -65 Impala SS in the McDrive, waiting for our hamburgers, Saturday night.
Sitting there talking, all of a sudden a dragster pulls up alongside us and the driver says: watch your ears guys, it will get noicy! Then he blasts off in a short burnout leaving us behind! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif I´m not kidding https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif Anders |

This is a factory Hemi Challenger that hasn´t been restored back to original condition yet. The original drivetrain was used in the "Bumble Bee"(Morris Minor)dragrace car. I visited Claes, the owner, in February and he told me he managed to buy the engine back when the "Bumble Bee" was retired. He also owns a -71 factory Hemi Cuda. Great guy https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif According to the Edsel guys, the first 190 cars were roof-cars. If that is true then this car, #191, is the very first Edsel convertible built. |

A Cyclone GT, Cale Yarborough special with a 429 engine.
One summer twenty years ago, I was driving a Cyclone GT with a 351 Cleveland. We had a lot of fun with that car, all summer. I saw that one to, here in Västerås. Anders |
Re: Power BIG Meet
I'm impressed!! You guys have quite a show over there, and a lot more variety than I thought. I used to work for Tetra Pak / Tetra Laval, and realized how much our Swedish friends appreciate their horsepower https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Power BIG Meet
Wow I never knew there was so much muscle in Sweeden! Man those pics look like there were some pretty bad storms on the horizon! Were the owners worried about that?

Re: Power BIG Meet
We were actually lucky here in Västerås ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
No rain on Friday. Rainy but still pretty decent on Saturday when these pictures were taken. At 2pm the rain stopped so that we could cruise all night ! On Sunday it started raining again, so we went home. We are used to rain in the summer, but this summer has been the worst since 1925, I think the said on the news. In the Anderstorp area, they got 5 inches of rain over the weekend. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif Anders |
