Camaro Performers magazine- Summer 2003
 

I, and friends, have looked high & low for this issue with the black 2002 ZL1 on the cover. Does anybody have any extras? I would like to get a couple. Thanks, Mike

I saw some on the shelf at my local bookstore last time I was there.
I have to go by there again this week,so I will buy what they have,if they have them.

I thought it had the ZL1 stripe but was not the real deal?

Not to nic-pic guys......but I think I have that magazine (Camaro Performers Summer 2003) in front of me. It does not have a Black 2002 ZL1 on the front cover instead, it has a Blue 1998 Camaro SS with red stripes. In this particular edition of Camaro Performers, there is an article about the #26 2002 Camaro ZL1 of Charles Lumpkin. If I am wrong, please let me know as I would like to add the magazine you are looking at to my collection as I have a Black 2002 Camaro ZL1 Phase II.

Not to disagree with Mike but........it's OK to get excited JD. It would be nice to see one on a cover sometime. Black cars don't seem to get much magazine coverage!!!!!!!!! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I was always told it was because they don't photograph well. I just got back from the store and found the Summer 2003 Issue of Camaro Performers.
It has what looks to be a Black,or Dk. Blue 4th generation SS on the cover with red hood & roof stripe while flying down the road.
Also features Charles Lumpkins Silver 02 Zl-1,with a picture of Helen Gibb signing it at VetteFest last November..Great Vintage photo of Grumpy launching off the line too!
And a Reprint of the 1968 427 Street Camaro built by Nickey/Bill Thomas,with photos and text..GOOD STUFF....

In the reprint of the 68 Nickey Camaro article there is a picture of Bill Casler bolting the Casler slicks on the car for a test run. Now that is customer service where the company owner comes out to the track to mount the tires.
