Geeze...That is the same guy that had the COPO and the LS6 convert. I think Marlin has looked at this car. Search for the previous COPO thread and I think Marlin mentions it's condition.

This guy really needs to get a flash on his camera or some lighting in that building. You'd think he could afford it with all these rare hipo cars.

Does he still have the LS6 Chevelle convertible for sale?? Has anyone seen the LS6 in person and check if original??

Charley Lillard 02-22-2002 03:54 AM

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

I believe someone knowledgable looked at it and confirmed it as having correct orig. LS6 drivetrain. Has no paperwork though.

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

Sounds like one of the members from Team Chevelle may have either got it or is closing the deal on it. From my understandings it has been verified as authentic by a leading Diamond Judge.

I thought Yenko put a floor mounted dual gate shifter in the automatics.

Did this guy stumble onto a collection or did he just lose 10 mil on hi tech stocks he is liquidating a hell of a collection of supercars.

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

I called this guy this morning. No paperwork. He told me it has a column shift in it now, block is decked, and has no idea if it is the original engine. Does not know if tranny or rear is original. Also said Vince Emmy verified the car 15 years ago for 150 bucks. Then said he lost verification and was unwilling to pay the new verification price of 1500 bucks. He also indicated it was a rust free Arkansas car. Has no previous history on the car, other than he thinks he is the third owner. Originally was a white stripe car according to Vince.

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

Daddy
Most of the automatic deuces had a Hurst auto stick. It was an after market shifter sold by Hurst to replace a column shift with a floor shifter. Looked a great deal like a Hurst competition plus 4 speed.
All auto deuces started life as column shifts, and were replaced with the auto stick or dual gate at Yenko, or Hurst.
Holes were air chisled in the floor pan and the shifter was stuffed through.
Wheres Marlin when you need him?

Warren,
Did you look at this Deuce?

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

Yeah, Warren, what all does this guy have! I can see a yellow C4 in the Deuce pictures, and tail lights of another car (308?), and of course the LS-6 'Vert. He has some NICE cars!

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

I would say the guy is telling the truth. I already had this car noted as a Deuce but just not sure which YS number it is. My guess is that it has to either be car 112, 113, or 114 originally as those cars were all FB cars with automatics and p/s. Not sure what he means by 1 of 17 automatics either, from my records there were more than that and of those only 11 were Fathom Blue and 3 went to Hurst. Marlin should be able to help on the verification of the vin and anything else that I might have stated wrong.............RatPack...................

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

Schonyenko 2, I knew about the Deuces having a Hurst dual gate shifter but I thought it unusual that this car had a column shift. In 1970 I went to Nankivell Chevy and saw a dark green Deuce, auto. I thought it was a 4 sp,then I realized it was an auto. They did fool alot of people. This blue car looks like the windshield is gone or is it my eyes?

Daddy
The column shift is a puzzle. I spoke with a couple of deuce owners, and we concluded that if you had to, you could make the column functional, no one thought that was a desirable thing to do, but to each their own On this particular car, the question might be if theres a hole in the floor pan, where is it located, and what's it look like. I don't see one in the pictures, but I do think I see a windshield.

Warren,
Thanks for the info. I have e-mailed the seller with no reply and that was last week.
I was especially interested in the L-S6 rag and the Deuce.

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

I looked at this car very briefly. Only thing I can add that hasn't been posted is the VIN and firewall tag info.
VIN #114270W354665
ST70 11427 WRN337289
731 28-28
06A A 1140

Auto,P/S, he also has pictures of the car the way he bought it. One picture shows the door panel decal.

Stefano, one of his car ads said to call him. If you need to get ahold of him call 203-937-0570 ask for Bill, a real friendly guy who doesn't want to be bothered with emails. He would rather talk on the phone, as he doesn't know his way around the computer that well. Warren

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

Thanks Warren,
I did see that notation on the L-S6 Chevelle and chose not to call or e-mail.

I did not however see the notation on the Deuce. I did e-mail several times, the first time with all my phone numbers and the permission to call me collect ,at his leisure just as a courtesy.

Most of us involved with this hobby, at any level would be considered at least quirky, if not down and out eclectic.

It just seems odd to me that he would use the E-Bay computer auction venue and have an e-mail address but refuse to reply.

The last time I checked, it is still a free country and he doesn't have to appease me, but I was a potential buyer on both Cars.

This is not a 'slam' on this individual as I do not know him.

But his e-mail does work and he knows how to use it, as he has contacted me on an unrelated issue https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

I hate to bump it up for anyone bidding, but what should this car be worth? The vin numbers have been reported to be accurate and it doesnt seem like it would be to much work to get this car on the road.

Now if you look at the fact that 'the red deuce' (not being 100% perfect) sold for 40k + shouldnt this car be bid a lot higher than 14k?

Oh by the way....if I was trying to sell a vehicle that should bring in decent 5 figures you can bet I would have very good pictures of the vehicle....(my .02)

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

I would guess that the Deuce is getting close to its upper limit considering the condition and the fact that it does not have the original engine, trans or rear and probably will require a good deal of work to make it śright”.

Any other opinions?

Mike

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

There is a hole in the floor, that has been patched over where the shifter would have gone. Someone has mistakenly added the column shift handle. He also had in the trunk (with a bunch of other stuff) the rear sway bar. It appeared to be the correct large diameter that was used in '70. The hood tach is not original. Warren

Warren..What is the Fragrance of the air in the tires ? Thanks......:-)

Re: Yenko Deuce on ebay

Good to hear it has the hole in the floor for the shifter. Column shift was unusual. Should have turbo 400 cross member. Also might want to check inside tops of qtr. pannels to see if they match the VIN.
I'd be interested in hearing from who ever buys this car, as I have a red one also sold out of Peck in Little Rock. Thanks
Ken
