Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Who is Bill Walden and why does he not help out here? He has opened up a whole new group of X44 COPO's and Yenko's. The search is on..BKH

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
OK....This is an extremely simple question but what does an X-44 code denote?
Billy |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Check out this link, Billy: http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#XnnCodes Check out #10 on that page...pretty good reading!
So, should someone contact the seller about the X-44 statement, or has someone contacted him already? [Edited by Chevy454 (02-14-2002 at 10:54 AM).] |

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Interesting...someone else emailed the seller verifying it as a real Yenko. And an ultra-rare white w/blue yenko stripes car on top of that... https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
I think Pete may be on to something. [Edited by Chevy454 (02-14-2002 at 01:53 PM).] |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Gee I wonder if my X44 with staight 6 and 3 on the tree qualifies as a COPO. I should gut it and put it on Ebay as a Yenko roller--would some of you bite??? Common people do your research!! I may be new to the board, and born at night but not last night!

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Hey,
I've got some ocean front property here in Tennessee I think I going to put on Ebay and make me some money! I know it is ocean front because I got an email saying so! What's scary is "one" is born everyday and their dirving cars! I think you call that a "Yanko" Camaro |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
I know you guys were just pulling our legs, just checking. Seriously, though unless someone uses some restraint via Ebay, I bet that car will go to 15k. Lot of dreamers and wishfull thinkers out there.

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Here's the latest Email he got from another Yenko fan (looks like a clone in the making):
Here is another email I have recieved saying it is a real YENKO I really have no idea about researching these. But If any of you have any questions please email me at [email protected] Thanks, Bron Fain... THIS 69 CAMARO YOU ARE SELLING ON EBAY IS INFACT A 69 YENKO, ITS ORIGINAL COLOR WAS WHITE WITH THE BLUE YENKO STRIPES, YOU HAVE A VERY RARE CAR THERE, I HAVE A 69 CODE DATED FRESH STANDARD 427 COMPLETE MOTOR AND A 69 CODE DATED M-22 4-SPEED, IF YOU WOULD PLEASE LET THE PERSON WHO GETS THIS CAR KNOW I HAVE THE CORRECT RUNNING GEAR FOR IT, DOES THE CAR HAVE A 12 BOLT REAR END? WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN TRADING THE CAR? LET ME KNOW IF THE HIGH BIDDER BACKS OUT, THANKS! JIM, CAMARO ALLEY IN CA |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Do you guys think there are people jerking the owner over with these email rants..BKH

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
You would think he would verify the information before posting.

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
As Reynolds noted, the trim tag rivets are the incorrect generic pop-rivet style, so there's a good chance this tag was not on this car when new.
This sure is a great illustration of how fish stories are created and perpetuated. One other point - isn't the heater box configuration the small-block variety? [Edited by Rainer (02-14-2002 at 10:31 PM).] |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Maybe the seller planted that comment to help the sale!!!!!!!!
Peter |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
It may be the original trim tag but was removed to paint the firewall. This is a mistake that you see on some older restorations. Looks like they painted everything under the hood with the body color making it look like a Chrysler product. The sellers email address tells a lot -- autobroker yahoo -- woohoo

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Did anyone notice the seat belt buckels that are with the standard interour? I think this is a scam tactic to get the bid up on a piece of junk worth maybe 5 grand at the most.

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
There is an ongoing thread about this car at camaros.net. This is a member Email and seller response - Amazing!
I emailed this guy about the car and this is what he said. Makes no sense at all. My email to him: This car is most likely not a Yenko. The brake pedals and brakes are from a drum brake set up, the heater core is not a big block set up and who ever told you it is, is not telling you the truth. I would not sell this car without proper paperwork if you THINK it is. If you really think it is a Yenko then... end the auction...get the car looked at..then re-list it for major dollars with proper documentation. Just to let you know, there are a hand full of people who are watching this who are in the restoration industry and they do not take to well to people who try to sell cars for something they arent. So be careful and good luck! His email: I do not know for sure if this is a YENKO or not. And I never said it was I am just putting what was told to me in the description. You have to look at my point of view also if this was a real YENKO and I sold it as just a regular camaro I would be losing alot of money. Thanks for your input I appreciate it, Bron Fain... |

What a scam job. This guy is a _____! People like this and the "COPO GUY" give our hobby a bad rap. I guess crooks are everywhere. |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Z28DZ- I bet he doesn't add your email to those of his buddies to his eBay add!!!!!To bad there are people like this. That was a good email you sent him!!!!

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Hey Souper - That Email I posted was sent by TobyT at camaros.net. I sent Bron an Email and he did not respond to me (I wasn't as pleasant as Toby).
Although this type of sales action is not new, it is very disheartening (brown Ebay COPO included here)and it's not just the private sector (some car dealers included here); I was at some large auctions in the southwest where some of the cars for sale were highly manipulated (and they sold!). Then you read the post Charley put up on the Hennesey guy and it just seems to be getting worse. So, as always has been and always will be, if your looking to buy a car, you'd better do your research. |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
I've asked for the VIN for this car with no response. If anyone does get the VIN, could you let me know.....
|
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
I e-mailed the person and told him that the trim tag was not from a Yenko Camaro. I also requested that he post this fact on Ebay. That's the best I can do.

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
He smells $$. He won't edit that ad because he's trying to sell someone a dream / hope.....

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Seller just added this:
To Potential bidders the emails that we have provided are infact real. However although these emails seem to be from very knowledgable people we have also recieved other emails from people who doubt that this car is a real YENKO camaro so please bid on it accordingly. None the less this car has great potential. And for those of you who need the vin# it is: 124379n612443 We had no idea this car would be so special and would create such excitment, but we in no way are representing this car to be a YENKO and have no idea of what a YENKO camaro is and dont know how to tell the difference. |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
What a way to cash in on $3k - $4k more than the car is worth!! The interior alone pulls that car out of the nice driver catagory..
|
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
The car isn't even an SS like it's badged up to be. This guy is clearly enhancing his car with false hopes. That car isn't even worth $8K let alone $12K. Some people need to do their homework.

Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
This one's been interesting to watch - the high bid has been dropping like Enron stock. Four retractions today, and a drop to $9600. The seller has added to his description that there's some conspiracy to scare off his bidders so someone can get the car for cheap. What a circus!
And to top things off, the seller now has a -1 rating due to feedback left today from a previous ebay car sale. [Edited by Rainer (02-19-2002 at 11:56 PM).] |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Sold for $10,250. That guy is a bastard!
Jason |
Re: "Yenko" on ebay item 1805174250
Did you notice he got his first feedback rating (-1) from a previous sale? Perhaps a forecast of his next feedback? -What goes around comes around-
Ps - Rainer alredy caught the feedback [Edited by Z28DZ (02-21-2002 at 12:22 AM).] |
