'70 Gobi Beige LS6 Chevelle Flip

Quite the flip here - sold on Bring a Trailer in October for $84k, and relisted on eBay for $125k. Does anyone believe this car is worth $50k more in two months? Also - I believe BaT generally yields higher prices for high-end muscle cars than eBay...but we'll see where this one goes.

I despise flippers.

Those wheels and tires absolutely kill that cars curb appeal.

I agree.

I love the interior. But why the horrible tires and 10 dollar valve covers?

lowmile 12-28-2025 07:07 PM

The hideous valve covers are probably because of roller rockers.

oh for sure..but just like the tires, wouldnt you spend a couple dollars more and use a day 2 set of mickeys or something instead? at least for curb appeal lol. its not like the car doesnt deserve it. its almost self defeating.

Derek69SS 12-29-2025 05:30 PM

That tan vinyl top kills the curb appeal more than anything in my opinion.
This is by far the worst color combination available on a 1970 Chevelle.

^ wholeheartedly agree with you!

However, sometimes that's what you wanted for a street sweeper...

I'm late to the party on this car, but looking at the BAT description and the pictures of the build sheet, I have Spidey sense tingles going off about whether it's a legit LS6. But hey, what do I know.....if it is, then congrats to the BAT buyer and best of luck flipping it.

That looks like a legit Arlington build sheet to me. If someone were to give it a quick dip in some acrysol, it would lift the tar staining right out without affecting the print.

What grabbed my attention was how the bottom and left edge of the sheet was so straight given the condition of the rest of it. Regardless, it looks like it either sold by offer or was ended.

Since a 4 speed LS6 Chevelle is a bucket list car for me, I don't know that I'd care about the color. At least you know you wouldn't likely be parked to another 70 Chevelle just like it at the show.

Whereas it's the first thing that caught my eye and I hate vinyl tops!

Changing the top to black would do a lot for that car.
I like dark vinyl tops on light colored cars.

Gobi Beige with tan vinyl top is a combination I've always hated since the first time I saw one.

Pro Stock John 01-09-2026 05:22 PM

I think this is one car where everyone would vote for a black top swap.

markinnaples 01-09-2026 08:43 PM

Obviously, I'm in the minority here as I don't mind the color, but I'm a different guy and actually like the different colors that you don't see these days. I wouldn't have ordered that color combo, but in this day you never see that beige so I kind of dig it.

black69 01-14-2026 01:36 PM

I think this car fits what I call unique but then there is the aspect of desirable. It cant be easy to break loose with $100K on something like this when you can wonder what if something in a better color comes along, and your money is tied up in this.

I know nothing about LS6s, but to me all you are getting is apparently a real one, a repaint, one that is bored out with no more room to go. Motor is a roller motor vs solid lifter, just would not be for me for $100K ish.

All my cars, my wife thinks are cool, this one she would say what is wrong with you! The interior reminds me of a nice caprice back in 70.

bring a trailer I believe got the max price right.

(had to edit my post: my wife does not like the close to mopar factory plum crazy purple 69 eldorado project I have that has its rare few made color that GM made. says its a pimp mobile color, yet its factory GM for cadillac only. that one we will disagree on ;). She is making me sell it unfortunately.....it will hurt letting that go... it would go so well with my other cars with cool paint choices.... so sad
