plan on retiring from full time work in 30 months. at that time I'm sure I'll become the bus drive for my Grandkids, so I just bought their new school bus.

unrestored original. looks like the hood and cowl have been painted other than that it looks to be original paint. it cleaned up nice! tomorrow I'll clean the inside.

Ralph Spears 07-03-2025 02:08 AM

Amazing where did you find that. A/C & cruise control too

luzl78 07-03-2025 02:17 AM

Love it!

Too Many Projects 07-03-2025 03:27 AM

Damn !!! Beautiful truck. You must not have many grand-kids, if they all fit in there.

dykstra 07-03-2025 11:33 AM

Way cool!!! Congrats!!

MosportGreen66 07-03-2025 12:43 PM

Stunning rig with great colors!

With wheels and tires it becomes a different animal

Bill Pritchard 07-03-2025 07:07 PM

Don't drive the kids in bad weather in that bus! Looks great.

Is that floor mounted switch alongside the seat on the drivers side for an auxiliary fuel tank?

Ryan1969Chevelle 07-04-2025 11:43 AM

Yes, from what I was told original owner put 2 auxiliary tanks on left and right in 73 or 74 during the gas crisis. from what I remember (I was 7 or 8) you could only get gas certain days of the week according to your last name. guess he didn't want to run out.

Too Many Projects 07-04-2025 04:54 PM

I knew it was a control to switch tanks, but I couldn't see any way to fill them. That is a really sneaky way to hide more tanks.
I was thinking the instrument panel looked too nice to be original and now I'm thinking the whole thing has been replaced when the tach was added. The cruise appears to be a genuine OTC kit, installed after too. The black gear selector housings on the column should have been blue too and appear to have replaced originals that were prone to fading and cracking and the white letters losing their color.
Still a Super nice truck and I would leave the full wheel covers on it. Too many have the rally wheels now and this one stands out as original....:worship:

actually the instrument panel is original. the tach was added right after the original owner bought it. he also owned it for 43 or 44 years. the cruise was added in 1977

If you got an open trailer you could tow the 1969 Chevelle to local shows!!! That would be something to see!!!

Wow! What an amazing truck! And so original. Very nice! Congrats.
You will have to get a vintage trailer and tow the Chevelle behind it.

a little update. the guy that owned the truck before me put a X pipe exhaust system on the truck that hung way below the frame rails. I didn't like the look of it. so I ordered one from Waldron's
I finally got the Waldron's factory style exhaust on. took 11 weeks to get it.
you couldn't get a dual exhaust on a small block truck from the factory, but they were able to make one

Ryan1969Chevelle 10-30-2025 08:50 PM

I really dislike my X pipe exhaust on my Cutkass, one day I will get rid of it too!!

Great truck!!!

Looks good, did the cartons have any name of them ? It looks very similar to a kit that Heartthrob Exhaust in Litchfield, MN makes.

---- Disclaimer,,, I'm not a long bed guy, nor am I an unmodified type of guy,,, But I wouldn't change a thing on this great long bed. I love it just as is!!!.....Bill S

Waldron's builds there exhaust systems in house. I drove up there and picked my system up when it was finished. they are in Centreville Michigan about an hour from my house. https://waldronexhaust.com/

Too Many Projects 10-31-2025 11:20 PM

Being able to pick this kind of stuff up saves a lot on shipping. I'm 1.5 hrs from Heartthrob, so would pick it up too.

I really enjoy driving this truck

Too Many Projects 11-03-2025 02:45 AM

I hear ya, I've had many trucks from that era and there's just something about them that I can't resist.

dykstra 11-03-2025 11:20 AM

Gorgeous!
